Goalkeepers

Nottingham Forest face Southampton this week, who rank worst in the league for total goals scored. Taking that and their elite defensive data into account, buying into the Nottingham Forest backline this week could be beneficial. One route into the defence is via Matz Sels (£4.9m).

In the unlikely event that Sels fails to feature, then West Ham’ Lukasz Fabianski (£4.1m) will step in from the bench.

Defenders

Fulham full-back Antonee Robinson (£5m) doesn’t just have clean sheet potential in any given week. The American has mustered up a huge nine assists this season already, edging out every other in his position. Robinson faces promoted side Leicester this week, which could see him add to his tally.

Playing at home this week means Arsenal have a good advantage over their opposition Aston Villa. One player who could benefit from that is Gabriel (£6.4m). Six goals in all competitions this season makes the Brazilian one of the most dangerous defenders in the league.

Newcastle have been excellent defensively as of late – keeping four clean sheets in their previous five matches. Adding goal threat to his clean sheet potential is flying full-back Lewis Hall (£4.9m), who has impressed from a distribution perspective this campaign.

On the bench, and ranking above every other defender in the last six Gameweeks for expected goals is Alex Munoz (£4.8m). The Crystal Palace full-back faces West Ham next, so some managers may even decide to start him ahead of another defender.

On the bench and helping enable funds elsewhere within the squad, is Leicester’ Conor Coady (£4m).

Midfielders

Conceding the joint most goals so far this season, Southampton are one of the best teams to target from an attacking perspective. As well as being a cheap route into the Nottingham Forest midfield, Anthony Elanga (£5.2m) has also returned in every single one of his last six matches.

Brentford may impress offensively, but they have proven ropey in defence – conceding the second most shots on target this season. This could play into the hands of Liverpool main man and penalty taker Mohamed Salah (£13.7m).

Manchester City appear to be scoring plenty of goals as of late. This week they have a great opening to continue that against Ipswich. Of their attackers, it’s Phil Foden (£9.2m) who is producing the best form, with four goal contributions in his last three matches.

Wolves have been woeful this season defensively, and they face Chelsea this week. The Blues may be out of sorts, but that hasn’t stopped penalty taker and talisman Cole Palmer (£11.4m), who has banked three double-digit hauls in his last four outings.

On the bench is Crystal Palace’ Ismaila Sarr (£5.9m). Sarr makes a great first bench option, as his side come up against a leaky West Ham defence. The Hammers have shipped 11 goals in their previous three games alone, so Sarr could have potential.

Forwards

In relentless form currently, Alexander Isak (£9.3m) could be considered essential. Bournemouth have impressed this season, but stopping a striker who has scored in seven consecutive matches, could prove challenging.

Another striker in top form, and coming off the back of scoring against Liverpool in his most recent match is Chris Wood (£6.9m). The Saints have conceded more big chances than any other side this campaign, so Wood has a good opportunity to continue his output.

Completing the frontline is Raul Jimenez (£5.6m). Leading the effective Fulham frontline, the Mexican has netted three times in his three-previous games. Next up for him is Leicester, a side who rank among the worst in the division for total goals conceded.
