FPL Gameweek 21 Top 5 Best Players to Buy on Deadline Day
The new round of Fantasy Premier League is here. For that reason we pick out the FPL Gameweek 21 top 5 players to buy on deadline day. To do this we consider several different factors including player form, statistics and fixture difficulty.
FPL Deadline days can be some of the most stressful and exciting times of the season. Because of that we clear out the noise and pick five players you should be considering in your team ahead of the new round. We’ll avoid players like Mohamed Salah, Cole Palmer and Alexander Isak due to their already high ownership. So, lets dive in.
1. Anthony Gordon
Newcastle are one of the most in-form teams in the league currently. The Magpies, go into their next match off the back of five consecutive league wins, whilst also having scored a huge 15 goals in the process.
This week Newcastle face off against Wolves, who have conceded more goals than any other side this season. As well as the already heavily owned Alexander Isak, another player who could take advantage of his oppositions defence is Anthony Gordon (£7.5m). Gordon is in fantastic form currently – bagging at least one goal contribution in six of his seven previous-matches.
2. Bruno Fernandes
Manchester United face one of the easiest oppositions a team in the Premier League can face this week. Ruben Amorim’ come up against rock bottom Southampton next. As well ranking as one of the worst sides for total goals conceded thus far, no other side have shipped more big chances.
With the above in mind, it could be a great week to bring in a Manchester United attacker. Arguably the standout due to his penalty taking duty, creativity and goal threat, is Bruno Fernandes (£8.3m). Fernandes has racked up an impressive eight goals and assists in his previous 10 matches, so he goes into the meeting in great form.
3. Eberechi Eze
Crystal Palace seem to have improved considerably since the start of the season. The Eagles lost five and won just one of their first nine matches of the campaign. However, in their nine-previous matches, they have lost just once.
They take their recent improvements into a match against Leicester. The Foxes haven’t just lost their last five matches on the bounce, they have also conceded the joint second most amount of goals this season. One player who has the form to take advantage of that is Eberechi Eze (£6.6m), who picked up a return in each of his last two games.
4. Raul Jimenez
Budget seems to be becoming increasingly important, with the form of players like Cole Palmer, Mohamed Salah, Alexander Isak, Bryan Mbeumo and Bruno Fernandes. So, making sure we find cheap but effective assets could be crucial to funding those players mentioned.
Taking the above into account, we could look to Fulham’ main man Raul Jimenez, who comes in at just £5.7m. The Cottagers have more than proven they can score goals – bagging two in four of their previous five games. Amongst those goals was the Mexican, who netted in both of his last two matches. Jimenez faces West Ham and Leicester next up, which could be two fantastic opportunities to continue his form.
5. Amad Diallo
It isn’t just in the forward line you can find great budget picks, but also in midfield. Increasingly tough fixtures for Bryan Mbeumo and Antoine Semenyo could also force the need for another midfielder. Both factors could suggest that Amad Diallo (£5.4m) may be a consideration.
As well as having a great fixture against Southampton next, Manchester United have some great fixtures after that. The schedule ahead could see Diallo return, especially give his recent form – having collected a huge eight returns in his previous 10 games. His cheap price-tag, form and fixtures, could make him an easy buy this week.
