FPL Gameweek 2 Best Differentials

Last modified date

The Premier League is approaching so we take a look at the FPL Gameweek 2 best differentials. Using the Fantasy Football Scout members area we utilise the fixture ticker and underlying stats to pick out some of the best players with low ownership.

Our FPL Gameweek 2 best differentials could give you a much needed boost to start the new season. Differentials are players who have low ownership. If those players are successful then it could both rank and mini-league position.

Chris Wood – 6.3% Ownership

Nottingham Forest have another great opportunity to score goals this week as they come up against Southampton. The Saints may have gained promotion from the Championship but they also ranked 17th worst for total goals conceded whilst there.

With several different attacking options at their disposal Nottingham Forest can hurt the Southampton defence from multiple positions. However, one player they will have to pay special attention to his striker Chris Wood (£6m). Wood leads the Nottingham Forest frontline and picked up nine points for his goal and three bonus in Gameweek 1.

Rodrigo Muniz – 7% Ownership

Fulham will be hoping to get some points on the board this week after their 1-0 loss to Manchester United in the first round. The Cottagers have the fixture to do exactly that too as they clash with newly promoted Leicester.

Leicester conceded a lot of shots in their first round – ranking joint second worst for total shots in the box conceded and joint second worst for total shots on target conceded.

With the above in mind it could be worth bringing in Fulham striker Rodrigo Muniz (£6m). The Brazilian showed explosiveness in his 23/24 campaign and his upcoming fixture could be the perfect opportunity to show that same quality once more.

Jean-Philippe Mateta – 6% Ownership

The striker options continue to pour in this week. Crystal Palace flopped against Brentford in Gameweek 1 but they play at home this week which could give them the bounce back they need.

West Ham lay ahead for the Oliver Glasner’s men who also lost the first match of the season 2-1. The Hammers conceded four big chances which was the joint second worst in the league.

One player who could take advantage of the above is Jean-Philippe Mateta (£7.5m). The Frenchman impressed hugely at the latter stages of last season and five goals during the Olympics shows there has been no break in form.

Antonee Robinson – 9.1% Ownership

Fulham also could offer defensive potential this week. The Cottagers maintained an average defence last season but one that could hold up in the round ahead, especially when you take into account that the Foxes produced the joint second worst total attempts on goal in Gameweek 1.

As well as it being a good opportunity for Antonee Robinson (£4.5m) to keep a clean sheet he could also have attacking potential. Last season the American ranked amongst the best six defenders in the league for expected assists and actual assists. Robinson also edged his teammates for non-penalty expected goal involvement.

Jeremy Doku – 3.9% Ownership

Ipswich were impressive during the first half of their clash with Liverpool. However, second half was a major turning point and they capitulated defensively. Overall the Tractor Boys conceded more big chances than any other side in Gameweek 1.

What’s worse for Ipswich this time around is that not only do they play away from home but they also play an opposition who regularly score more goals.

After a poor start to the game and returning to his favoured position Jeremy Doku (£6.5m) put in a very good performance against Chelsea. He may not have returned but he played 90 minutes and produced the second most non-penalty expected goal involvement within the Manchester City frontline.
