Best Wildcard Team
With the help of the above and Plan FPL we built the best Wildcard for Gameweek 12:
Goalkeepers
Chelsea have a great run of fixtures ahead so selecting Robert Sanchez (£4.7m) between the sticks could be beneficial. Lukasz Fabianski (£4m) continues to start for West Ham. The Hammers have a couple of tough fixtures, then five good fixtures immediately after. FPL managers could even rotate both if they decide to.
Defenders
Arsenal are coming into a very good set of fixtures and Gabriel (£6.1m) remains their best option. The Brazilian has been a huge goal threat from set pieces this season and his underlying data reflects that.
Wolves continue to plough through their lovely plum fixture run. Although short of clean sheets this season, full-back Rayan Ait Nouri (£4.7m) is a major attacking threat – scoring three goals already.
A cheap route into the Aston Villa defence is Ezri Konsa (£4.4m), who has three home matches in his next four games. Although inconsistent defensively in the league, Unai Emery and his men have proven their capabilities in Europe and it may not be long before we see that form in the league.
Ipswich are another side who have been hit and miss from a defensive perspective. That may be but fullback Leif Davis (£4.5m) has created more chances and big chances than any other defender so far this season.
Brighton have moved past tough opposition and are heading into a much easier fixture run. The Seagulls could well have clean sheet potential in their games ahead and Paul Van Hecke (£4.5m) could be an option.
Midfielders
Earning more points than any other player in the game thus far is Mohamed Salah (£12.9m). The Liverpool talisman has returned in all but one of his matches this season. Salah could also be a standout captaincy option for several upcoming rounds.
Playing two of the three promoted sides in the next three rounds is Chelsea. The Blues have great fixtures to attack after that, and who better to back than their main man and penalty taker Cole Palmer (£10.9m).
Another flagged player who is likely to start this week is Bryan Mbeumo (£7.9m). Mbeumo may be close to a negative fixture swing. But, based on his form and output this season, he should be a hold for now, or at least for the next two rounds.
Arsenal’s upcoming fixtures makes investing in their frontline very appealing. The standout attacking option is of course Bukayo Saka (£10.1m), who has returned at least once in seven of his first 10 matches.
Completing the midfield is Antoine Semenyo (£5.7m). Bournemouth play some of the worst defences in the league ahead, and Semenyo has been one of their most effective attackers.
Forwards
Taking into account form, Newcastle’s Alexander Isak (£8.5m) could have huge potential. The Swedish international plays five poor defences in his next six matches, and he goes into that run with three goals in his last three games.
Brighton are another side who have impressed recently. Returning from injury recently, with a goal and an assist in his previous match, Joao Pedro (£5.4m) is a cheap route into the attack. He also takes penalties for his side.
Maintaining some of the best underlying data in the league this season amongst forwards is Matheus Cunha (£6.8m). Cunha goes into a great run of fixtures having produced at least one return in his last three matches.
