FPL Gameweek 1 Best Differentials

The Premier League is approaching so we take a look at the FPL Gameweek 1 best differentials. Using the Fantasy Football Scout members area we utilise the fixture ticker and underlying stats to pick out some of the best players with low ownership.

Our FPL Gameweek 1 best differentials could give you a much needed boost to start the new season. Differentials are players who have low ownership. If those players are successful then it could both rank and mini-league position.

Diogo Jota – 7.9% Ownership

Liverpool top the Fantasy Football Scout fixture ticker this week. Newly promoted side Ipswich lay ahead and although successful last season they shipped at least two goals in a huge 16 league matches which highlights how vulnerable they can.

Whilst Mohamed Salah remains the standout option another player who could have huge potential going into Gameweek 1 is Diogo Jota (£7.5m). Although categorised as a midfielder Jota has been playing in a forward role during pre-season. In the three matches Jota has played during pre-season he also managed two assists and one goal so has form going into the new campaign.

Jarell Quansah – 2.7%

Liverpool could be a treasure chest this week. As well as being one of the strongest sides in the league last season overall they also have one of the best fixtures a team could have on paper this week.

Defensively, or at least in terms of clean sheets Liverpool were hit and miss last season. However, they also ranked amongst the best three teams for multiple defensive metrics which suggests they simply underperformed.

With the above in mind, Liverpool have clean sheet potential this week and centre-back Jarell Quansah (£4.5m) could be the cheapest route into a solid points returns. Starting four of Liverpool’s pre-season matches Quansah appears to be first choice now, or at the very least first choice for Gameweek 1.

Antoine Semenyo – 1.2% Ownership

It wasn’t a ground breaking season for Bournemouth last time out but it may have been enough to persuade fans that the Cherries are not a team to underestimate. They come up against Nottingham Forest in Gameweek 1 which could be a great opportunity to get three points on the board.

The departure of Dominic Solanke to Tottenham will be a significant loss but one that Antoine Semenyo (£5.5m) could gain from. The Ghanian switched from an in-game forward last season to an in-game midfielder this season which is interesting because he may well lead the line for the Cherries this year. Semenyo also found the net during pre-season against Arsenal which is just one example of his potential.

Daichi Kamada

By now most of us are aware of Oliver Glasner’s impact at Crystal Palace. The new manager has instilled a playing style that suits the team and a fearlessness that has given the frontline a new lease of life. An example of this was the latter stages of their last campaign in which they racked up 20 goals in their final five matches.

With Michael Olise making the move to Bayern and Jean Phillipe Mateta enjoying a deserved break after impressing in the Olympics Crystal Palace are going to need more than Eberechi Eze. That player could be former Lazio midfielder Daichi Kamada (£5.5m). The Japanese international seems to have settled into Glasner’s side quickly – scoring two goals during pre-season, and a first meeting against Brentford could be a good opportunity to continue that form.

Rodrigo Muniz – 7.6% Ownership

Fulham are an interesting side, you never quite know what you’re going to get from them in terms of performance. This could be more predictable this week as they come up against a Manchester United side who conceded the second most attempts in the league last season.

Manchester United are evidently a team to target from a defensive perspective which makes Fulham more appealing in terms of investment. One player who seems to be going under the radar is star striker Rodrigo Muniz (£6m) who leads the frontline. Muniz showed how explosive he can be during last season – bagging eight goals and one assist between February and March.
