FPL: @FPLReaction’ Top Three Picks for Gameweek 37

The new round of Fantasy Premier League is edging closer so we invited regular contributor and fantasy football whizz @FPLReaction to reveal his top three picks for Gameweek 37. His picks are all players he thinks are going under the radar for the round ahead.

Seeing @FPLReaction’ top three picks for Gameweek 37 could be extremely enlightening. As we approach the deadline many within the community may be unsure when it comes to which players to buy. These three picks could help bring clarity around those decisions.

The Obvious Options

  • Dorde Petrovic (£4.6m)
  • Cole Palmer (£6.2m)
  • Nicolas Jackson (£6.9m)
  • Erling Haaland (£14.2m)
  • Kevin De Bruyne (£10.5m)
  • Phil Foden (£8.4m)
  • Bruno Fernandes (£8.5m)
  • Alexander Isak (£8.4m)
  • Anthony Gordon (£6.3m)
  • Dan Burn (£4.6m)
  • Son Heung-Min (£9.9m)
  • Pedro Porro (£5.8m)

Noni Madueke

Here we go, another Chelsea pick from @FPLReactions, I know that’s what your thinking. But, there are several factors backing Chelsea this week and their recent scoring form is one of them, 2-3 goals in seven of their last matches to be exact which is hugely impressive.

Chelsea face Nottingham Forest and Brighton this week, two teams who have been extremely poor at times this season defensively. Interestingly, the last time Chelsea failed to score two goals away from home was against Manchester City in Gameweek 25.

Many will of course opt for Nicolas Jackson and Dorde Petrovic to fill up their Chelsea slots. But Noni Madueke (£5.3m) should be a serious consideration. Personally, I see Madueke as our second most effective attacker and his speed and ability to pass a man will be a brilliant trait coming up against the opposition ahead. Four returns in his last six matches also reflects solid output.

Josko Gvardiol

Manchester City appear to be on a warpath and I’m not sure much can stop them from winning the league. That steel focus is something we see season after season and it doesn’t just mean plenty of goals, but clean sheets too.

Three clean sheets in their last five matches in all competitions suggests that they are improving defensively. They take that confidence into the round ahead where they will face a Tottenham side who prior to their match against Liverpool failed to scored in two of their last three league matches and a Fulham team who have shown huge inconsistencies all season.

For some reason Josko Gvardiol (£5.1m) has around just 10% ownership, which I find crazy. Gvardiol is evidently in an attacking purple patch after two goals and two assists in his last four matches. Rotation also seems less of a concern too because he has started the last seven league games for Manchester City.

Callum Wilson

Newcastle are picking up a good run of form after winning four of their last six league matches. The Magpies seem to be gaining some serious attacking momentum as well, scoring a huge 4-5 goals in four of their last seven games.

Newcastle are absolutely brilliant at home, a venue they have netted a mammoth 14 goals at in the last four games, which is where they play their first match of Gameweek 37. What is interesting is that their second fixture comes away from home, but it’s against a Manchester United who sit amongst the worst sides in the league for total shots conceded.

Alexander Isak and Anthony Gordon are going to be massively popular this week so their returns won’t do much for your rank. For that reason, one way to actually gain from the Newcastle goals could be to bring in Callum Wilson (£7.8m). Since returning from injury Wilson has managed returns in two of his three matches. I think Wilson could be a serious consideration this week, even if that means triple Newcastle attack.
