FPL: @FPLReaction’ Top three Picks for Gameweek 32
The new round of Fantasy Premier League is edging closer so we invited regular contributor and fantasy football whizz @FPLReaction to reveal his top three picks for Gameweek 32. His picks are all players he thinks are going under the radar for the round ahead.
Seeing @FPLReaction’ top three picks for Gameweek 32 could be extremely enlightening. As we approach the deadline many within the community may be unsure when it comes to which players to buy. These three picks could help bring clarity around those decisions.
The Obvious Options
- Bukayo Saka
- Cole Palmer
- Malo Gusto
- Mohamed Salah
- Erling Haaland
- Phil Foden
- Alexander Isak
- Son Heung-Min
- Jarrod Bowen
Dominic Solanke
A lot of managers within the community have decided to pull away from Bournemouth, even with their impending Double Gameweek in 34 on the horizon. However, the Cherries have been one of the best teams in the league when it comes to attacking data recently. In fact, in the last six Gameweeks they sit third best for goals scored, second best for total attempts on goal, second best for shots in the box and the best for big chances.
The above shows that backing the Bournemouth attack could still be hugely rewarding. This can be emphasised with Luton up next. Defensively, only one other side have conceded more goals than the Hatters in the last six rounds. Overall this season, they also sit as the worst team in the league for total big chances conceded.
One player in particular has the skill to take advantage of the above and that is Dominic Solanke (£7.2m). I personally, have been unimpressed with Darwin Nunez and a part of me regrets ditching Solanke for him. Nothing has massively changed recently with Solanke as he still ranks in the top three forwards for non-penalty expected goal involvement in the last six matches. Jumping back on Solanke now could be a very rewarding move.
Rayan Ait Nouri
It is very rare I would consider selecting a defender here, mainly because of how bad that position has performed this season in FPL. However, one in particular has been catching my eye recently.
Wolves don’t really offer anything special from a defensive point of view. They rank mid-table for a lot of the key defensive metrics both overall and in the last six Gameweeks.
However, what Wolves do offer is Rayan Ait Nouri (£4.7m), a player that as you can see below, gets into some great positions inside the oppositions half.
Rayan Ait Nouri’ recent output is also triggering the community in a positive way. No defender in league can match the three goals and one assist he has produced in his last four league games. His data also backs up his potential as he ranks above every other defender in the last six Gameweeks for non-penalty expected goal involvement, expected goals and total big chances.
Ait Nouri has a Double Gameweek ahead, some good fixtures and defenders have been awful recently overall, there is no reason to not go for him if you have the money.
Ivan Toney
Brentford have been far from impressive recently and have actually failed to win any of their last nine league matches. What is promising though is that they have scored in seven of those same games against the likes of Chelsea, Arsenal, Manchester United and Liverpool.
Mots of Brentford’ appeal comes from their schedule. The Bees have matches against Aston Villa, Sheffield United, Luton, Everton, Fulham, Bournemouth and Newcastle from now until the end of the season. This is enough to look into a move for striker Ivan Toney (£8.1m).
Toney may have just one return in his last six matches, but his underlying data in that period, against tough opposition it may be worth adding, is extremely impressive. In fact amongst all forwards he ranks third for chances created, second best for big chances created, second best for total attempts on goal and second best for shots in the box.
We built two of the best wildcard drafts for the period ahead in our article here.
