FPL: @FPLReaction’ Top Three Picks for Gameweek 25

With the new round edging closer we bring in Fantasy Football Community and Fantasy Football Scout contributor @FPLReaction’ (Louis) to reel off his top three picks for Gameweek 25.

Here I will give you my top three picks for Gameweek 25. There are some very obvious options with huge potential for the new round and whilst I will list them, I will also provide you with three different picks who I think could also do well.

The Obvious Options

  • Bukayo Saka (£9m)
  • Gabriel/Saliba (£5.1m/5.6m)
  • Ollie Watkins (£8.7m)
  • Diogo Jota (£8.3m)
  • Darwin Nunez (£7.6m)
  • Erling Haaland (£14.4m)
  • Kevin De Bruyne (£10.8m)
  • Phil Foden (£8m)
  • Richarlison (£7.2m)
  • Pedro Porro (£5.8m)

Pascal Groß

There’s going to a lot of traction around assets that have a Double Gameweek this week and as always many will forget about single Gameweek players. This is something that is hugely relevant to our next and one that shouldn’t be underestimated.

Brighton are very effective offensively which is common knowledge at this point. The Seagulls come into a meeting against Sheffield United this week which as we all know is the perfect opportunity for most opposing attackers. The Blades may have improved somewhat under Chris Wilder but they are still conceding a huge amount of goals, 14 in their last four matches in all competitions to be exact.

Leading the FPL points at Brighton is Pascal Groß (£6.4m). The German has been hot and cold recently when it comes to returns but with two double-digit hauls on the bounce he goes into the next game with massive confidence. Pascal Groß doesn’t just have goal threat with the addition of penalty duty in Joao Pedro’ absence, he has also been one of the most creative players in the league recently. In fact in the last six matches he sits fourth best for expected assists and second best for bit chances created.

Rodri

Manchester City have a Double Gameweek in the round ahead which makes their assets extremely attractive. The Champions go into a double bill as the highest scoring team in the league which shows how effective they have been in front of goal this season, again.

Most managers are going to look to the likes of Phil Foden, Kevin De Bruyne and co. But, minutes can be a huge factor when considering Manchester City attackers. One player who is likely to play 180 minutes this week is Rodri (£5.6m).

Let’s be honest, no one likes a central midfielder in FPL but Manchester City are so dominant that Rodri can get into some very advanced positions. He even has output. In fact, so far Rodri has picked up eight attacking returns in 20 Premier League matches and two goal contributions in the Champions League.

If you want a cheap Manchester City asset that is nailed in terms of gametime this week, then Rodri is your man.

Douglas Luiz

Readers are going to think I am barking mad this week. Now, whilst most of the community look to bring in double Gameweek assets, some already prepared could start looking ahead. Aston Villa have been excellent this season and remain in the top six teams for goals scored.

My next pick takes into consideration the fixture ahead, schedule after and the massive Blank in Gameweek 29. Aston Villa face Fulham next, a team whom rank fourth worst for big chances conceded this season and third worst for shots in the box conceded in the last six Gameweeks. They then go onto play Nottingham Forest, Luton and Tottenham. If that wasn’t enough they also have a fixture in Blank Gameweek 29 against West Ham.

Taking the above into mind Douglas Luiz (£5.5m) offers multiple appeal. Not only does he have a good fixture next, schedule ahead and plays in the big blank but he also has attacking threat. So far in the league Luiz has managed a cool 11 goal contributions which shows how attacking he can be. Luiz has also managed two assists in six Europa matches. Penalty taking duty is a huge bonus with the Aston Villa man but Luiz tops off his appeal with the fact he plays 90 minutes nearly every match. Luiz is a longer term addition to my top three picks for Gameweek 25.
