FPL: @FPLReaction’ Top Three Picks for Gameweek 22

With the new round edging closer we bring in Fantasy Football Community and Fantasy Football Scout contributor @FPLReaction’ (Louis) to reel off his top three picks for Gameweek 22.

Here I will give you my top three picks for Gameweek 22. There are some very obvious options with huge potential for the new round and whilst I will list them, I will also provide you with three different picks who I think could also do well.

The Obvious Options

  • Bukayo Saka (£9.1m)
  • Gabriel (£5m – if fit)
  • Pervis Estupinan (£5.1m)
  • Ollie Watkins (£8.9m)
  • Julian Alvarez (£7m)
  • Kevin De Bruyne (£10.6m)
  • Phil Foden (£8m)
  • Kyle Walker (£5.4m)
  • Richarlison (£7m)
  • Pedro Porro (£5.9m)
  • Jarrod Bowen (£8.1m)

Diogo Jota

Jurgen Klopp announced this week that he will be leaving Liverpool at the end of the season. Now this for me does one thing, gives the Liverpool players all the motivation they need to steamroll any opposition that stand in their way.

It’s not just Klopp’ upcoming departure that makes me think they can punish teams ahead, they have shown us exactly what they can do in recent performances. In fact, the Reds have won five of their last six matches whilst also notching up a huge 18 goals.

Chelsea lay ahead this week but as you can tell, I don’t think it matters to me who they play this week. One player who I think will continue to do well is Diogo Jota (£7.9m). If I had to pick a player in the league right now to finish a chance it would be this man. In terms of form Jota is in a great run – scoring five goals and creating four assists in his last 10 matches for club and country.

Jota is also a very good transfer option moving forward. The injury to Mohammed Salah and potential double Gameweek coming up only emphasises that.

Joao Pedro

Brighton have been a really interesting side recently. The Seagulls have either been demolishing their opposition and scoring 4-5 goals or their matches have been a complete 0-0 stalemate. Hopefully this week we get the 4-5 goals version of Brighton.

The above could be tough this week with Luton ahead. They have visibly improved and can be a tough nut to crack in terms of picking up a result at home. However, Luton are still conceding a lot of goals, whether they are at home or not.

One player who has caught my eye recently is Joao Pedro (£5.5m). The 22-year-old is having a very strong first season at Brighton – scoring seven goals and producing two assists in 21 league games. But, his recent form is even more promising – notching up a massive seven goals and one assist in his last five matches played. Pedro is also on penalty duty which would be unfair to leave out.

Eberechi Eze

Crystal Palace are in serious trouble. The Eagles have won just one of their last 10 matches which means they are just five points off the relegation zone. The chances of them scrapping in a relegation battle seem to be increasing. Roy Hodgson could be on the chopping block this week but I think his team will come good for him.

The biggest appeal of the Crystal Palace assets this week is the fact they face Sheffield United. The newly re-appointed Chris Wilder has made some improvements but not enough to make me want to avoid targeting them.

The standout option in the Crystal Palace attack is of course Eberechi Eze (£6m). It may take some magic and creativity to break through the Sheffield United backline and I think Eze is perfect to take on that role. Not only does Eze take general set pieces but he also takes penalties which for me gives him an extra edge. It is also worth adding that Crystal Palace do not have a red fixture until Gameweek 32 as well.
