FPL experts during the break
We take a catchup with some FPL experts during the break. With the new Gameweek approaching, we see what some of the most elite managers have been talking about in the build up whether that be players to invest in, players to avoid and more.
Catching up with the FPL experts during the break could be highly beneficial to other managers. Whether they discuss expected minutes, potential transfer targets, chip strategy or other key factors, it can all help to provide clarity within our own teams.
@FplMode
Fantasy Football Scout contributor Andy highlighted one player who seems to have gripped the community during the break. Tottenham have been in fine form in the early stages of the season but it took midfielder Son Heung-min (£9.1m) four attempts to finally return FPL points.
Son bagged a huge 20-point return in Gamweeke 4 due to his three goals and three bonus. 399219 managers have brought in Son after his haul. He faces Sheffield United, Arsenal and Liverpool in the next three matches.
@FlapjackFpl
Another Fantasy Football Scout contributor brought up an interesting point during the break. Cameron Archer (£4.5m) left Aston Villa recently to join newly promoted side Sheffield United and some managers started the season with him hoping for a move similar to this.
Archer has already made a big impact for the Blades – scoring and assisting against Everton in Gameweek 4 helping to secure a 12-point return. Unfortunately some owners benched Archer for his haul but could have a great opportunity to start him during the blank Gameweek. The Sheffield United man also stands out as the best £4.5m forward in the game for the run ahead.
@FPLMarcin
The recent announcement of the double Gameweek in Gameweek 7 has some managers in the community sitting on the fence. However some like Marcin may be looking to invest as Luton face both Everton and Burnley – two teams who are struggling to maintain form.
Luton are yet to sustain good form themselves however the prospect of a double Gameweek could mean managers target players like Carlton Morris (£5.5m). The striker leads the Hatters frontline but also takes his sides penalties which could mean he is the obvious choice.
@Pras_fpl
Fantasy Football Scout contributor Pras was in form during the break. He tweeted about Chelsea’ Reece James (£5.3m). As we can see the right-back could be set for a return to first team football after his recent injury ruled him out for the early stages of the campaign.
Managers who decided to bring in back-up right-back Malo Gusto (£4.2m) may start feeling nervy. Gusto has been a solid replacement for James and even managed a huge 14-point return in Gameweek 3 against Luton. However, with James returning managers may now have to sell a player they have only just brought into their squads.
@FPL_Harry
Fantasy Football Scout contributor Harry released a poll during the break. We have already seen that some managers are flocking to Tottenham assets after their brilliant start to the new season. Another team many are considering investment in is Newcastle.
Newcastle had some horrific fixtures to start their campaign – they faced Aston Villa, Brighton, Liverpool and Manchester City. However, they now come into a great run against the likes of Brentford, Sheffield United and Burnley in the next three so many are looking at their defensive assets.
