FPL experts ahead of the season

We catchup with some of the FPL experts ahead of the new season to see what they have been discussing. Whether that be a new interesting team draft, a new player that has come to their attention or just their general thoughts we cover it all.

Catching up with the FPL experts ahead of the season could be extremely useful for other fantasy managers. Knowing how some of the best managers in the game are thinking could help to bring clarity to our own decisions for the new campaign.

@FplMode

Andy played with the idea of owning Ben Chilwell (£5.5m) this week. The Chelsea full-back has impressed during pre-season – he scored in one of his matches and came close to netting again against Brighton in the 30+ minutes he did feature.

Many managers have been debating whether to start with Chelsea assets from the start of the season. However, others could stay patient and wait for the Blues’ fixtures to improve in Gameweek 3 to make the switch over.

@FFScout_Tom

The Chelsea chat has been a major topic during pre-season. With the arrival of Mauricio Pochettino and the clear improvements injected into their play already many within the community have been pondering the Chelsea options as a whole.

One of the managers to show interest in the Chelsea attack is Tom. Whilst many are still unsure on which player will take penalties both strikers Christopher Nkunku (£7.5m) and Nicolas Jackson (£7m) have been impressive.

The last time both strikers started in the same match, Nkunku played behind Jackson whilst the latter led the line. In terms of pre-season so far Jackson also leads the way after scoring two goals and creating three assists in three matches.

@fplblackbox_az

Az also mentioned something very interesting this week. Like many teams Brighton have been progressing through pre-season under the microscope of many fantasy managers within the community keeping a close eye on their assets.

One of the many players worth monitoring is that of Jason Steele (£4.5m). He managed to pick up an assist in one of his most recent matches. The Goalkeeper bracket is full of options this season. Some could be looking at Manchester United Andre Onana (£5m). However, others will be hoping to invest a bit cheaper in one of the £4.5m goalkeepers like Jason Steele.

@Pras_fpl

Pras continued the discussion around the £4.5m goalkeeper bracket. Many fantasy managers reaped the rewards of David Raya’ (£5m) fantastic season last campaign – he managed to become the highest scoring player in his position.

Rumours suggest David Raya could leave Brentford this summer. This would open up the door for the cheaper Mark Flekken (£4.5m) to enter the growing pool of viable £4.5m goalkeeper options.

@BakerFPL343

Baker provided his latest draft to the community this week. In this draft he has opted for new Manchester United goalkeeper Andrea Onana. In defence he has chosen to exclude Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold (£8m) giving him more budget elsewhere.

One of the most interesting factors in Baker’ team is his inclusion of both Marcus Rashford (£9m) and Bruno Fernandes (£8.5m). Another differential addition is that of Tottenham midfielder Richarlison (£7m) who banked three goals in one of his latest pre-season friendly matches.
