FPL Experts Ahead of the Gameweek 38

We bring in the FPL experts ahead of Gameweek 38. It has been a whirlwind Gameweek 37 with lots of shocks and surprises of which some of the best managers and biggest personalities in the FPL community have reacted to. They also highlight players, teams and chips looking ahead.

Catching up with some FPL experts ahead of Gameweek 38 could be hugely beneficial for fantasy managers. From them we can emphasise some of the best and worst performances which can then have an effect on future planning.

One of the biggest returns of Gameweek 37 came in the Fulham v Manchester City game. The double for Manchester City meant many opted for one of their defenders. The two most popular were Kyle Walker and Josko Gvardiol.

Josko Gvardiol continued his blistering FPL form after scoring two goals and keeping a clean sheet. The Croatian managed a mammoth 21 points whilst Walker owners had to settle for just six. With West Ham in the final round Gvardiol non-owners may decide enough is enough.

Staying with Manchester City, captaincy was an easy decision for many ahead of the double. The Norwegian went into his first match against Fulham off the back of four goals in his previous game but failed to extend his form.

However, Haaland has one final match this week against Tottenham, a team whom have conceded a huge 14 goals in their last five league matches. Those that chose an alternative captaincy option will be hoping he can repeat his failure, especially after some opted for Cole Palmer who bagged six points in his first match.

Frustration continued into the 3pm kick-offs on Saturday. Many within the community were resting their hopes on Newcastle to do the business against an inconsistent Brighton this week. That wasn’t to be as the Magpies fell short with a 1-1 draw with no significant FPL contributions.

Popular assets like Dan Burn, Alexander Isak and Anthony Gordon all flopped whilst Callum Wilson didn’t even make the squad. With the two main strikers suffering from illness, the hope is they come back with a bang against a Manchester United side who rank as one of the worst in the league for total shots conceded.

@FPLOlympian

Tottenham were also a popular team coming into Gameweek 37. Son Heung-Min had the most ownership but he failed to get amongst the two goals his side scored. Another very popular pick was defender Pedro Porro, he rifled his way to a goal and a nine-point return.

Some who chose to double up on the Tottenham defence were left disappointed after the Burnley goal. That wasn’t the case for those who decided to bring in centre-back Micky Van de Ven after his match winning goal.

Tottenham face Sheffield United on the final day. Because of that, the same managers who went heavy on Tottenham this week could be set up nicely on the final day.

@HibboFPL

The late game on Saturday brought some joy. The Blues came up against Nottingham Forest who were looking to confirm their stay in the Premier League for one more season. Although edging Chelsea at one point, another two goals meant the London club took all three points.

As well as Cole Palmer picking up some points as mentioned above, striker Nicolas Jackson also extended his fruitful FPL run. Jackson scored the winning goal which helped him to five points. Although players like Noni Madueke and Conor Gallagher failed to get involved amongst the returns, Reece James did not after registering an assist in an 11-minute feature.

Bournemouth are up next on the final day which could be a great opportunity for Chelsea assets to get amongst the points. Some within the community may even decide to take a punt on Reece James.
