FPL Experts Ahead of the Gameweek 33
We bring in the FPL experts ahead of Gameweek 33. It has been a whirlwind Gameweek 32 with lots of shocks and surprises of which some of the best managers and biggest personalities in the FPL community have reacted to. They also highlight players, teams and chips looking ahead.
Catching up with some FPL experts ahead of Gameweek 33 could be hugely beneficial for fantasy managers. From them we can emphasise some of the best and worst performances which can then have an effect on future planning.
@GianniButtice
The first match played in Gameweek 32 was of course Crystal Palace v Manchester City. The game itself had plenty of key moments and takeaways, including the biggest, which was of course Kevin De Bruyne’s performance. Gianni was one of many that sold the Belgian ahead of the round which was met with a punishing blow of 18 points. His mammoth haul mostly came from two goals, one assist and three bonus.
Erling Haaland was also on the score sheet. The Norwegian rewarded those who chose to captain him with an eight-point return.
Manchester City continue to frustrate defensively however. Josko Gvardiol was one of the most backed defensive assets going into the game. However, the Croatian lasted just 45 minutes before being substituted. As a result he finished the match with zero points.

Another Fantasy Football Scout contributor weighed in on a massive moment this week. The Blank and Double Gameweeks meant FPL managers had to make sacrifices. Unfortunately one of those included Aston Villa striker Ollie Watkins. The Englishman hit his seventh double-digit haul of the season, reminding every one that he will continue his exceptional form regardless of the schedule.
Andy candidly emphasised having to choose between both assets who double and assets that don’t. This came a week after Phil Foden hit a massive 20 points for his hattrick. He of course was another player many cut ties with to fund moves elsewhere.
@FPL_Harry
Gameweek 32 also brought some joy for many. Some questioned Harry’, and others, decision to bring in an Everton defensive asset, However, prior to the round the Toffees had collected nine clean sheets, which was the third most in the league.
Those that backed the likes of Jordan Pickford and Jarrod Branthwaite picked up a nice collection of points this week. Everton kept their 10th clean sheet of the season and climbed up to joint second with Liverpool for clean sheets banked.
With matches against Chelsea, a Double Gameweek immediately after that, Brentford, then Luton and finally Sheffield United, it could be wise to snap up one of their budget gems.
@FPL_Architect
We already highlighted how Gvardiol performed this week but one other defensive asset caused plenty of frustration within the community. One player who has been impressing recently is of course Wolves man Raya Ait Nouri. Prior to this weeks match, the Algerian racked up three goals and one assist in his last four league games.
Ait Nouri continued that attacking form this week as he won a penalty against West Ham. Excitement followed with immediate despair as Ait Nouri picked up an injury and was forced off before the 60th minute. With Nottingham Forest then a Double Gameweek next up, many will be hoping the injury is nothing more than a knock.
@FPLGOAT7
FPL GOAT also picked up on a really significant fact this week. Arsenal have maintained the best defence in the league this season, sitting above every other side for both clean sheets kept and goals conceded. This has been extremely beneficial for those that have backed the likes of Gabriel, David Raya, William Saliba and Ben White. Some have benefitted more than others as they have backed a defensive double up.
The Arsenal defence have an interesting schedule ahead. They have a home match against Aston Villa, a Double Gameweek in 34, Tottenham immediately after that and then Bournemouth. With that in mind it could be worth holding at least one of their defensive options, some could even take the chance with two.
We put together all of the best picks for Gameweek 33 in this article here.
