FPL experts ahead of Gameweek 23

We take a look at some of the FPL experts ahead of Gameweek 23. With the new round approaching, we check out what some of the most elite managers have been talking about in the build up to the latest round of Fantasy Premier League.

Looking at what some of the FPL experts ahead of Gameweek 23 are talking about could be highly beneficial to other managers. Whether they discuss expected minutes, potential transfer targets, chip strategy or other key factors, it can all help to provide clarity within our own teams.

@Greyhead19

Fantasy Football Scout contributor was one of the many to bring up the news of Reece James’s return to FPL. The Chelsea defender has been out of action due to injury but to the surprise of many started his match against Fulham in Gameweek 22.

Although he started, Reece James was substituted off just seconds before banking the clean sheet points. It isn’t all bad news though. The defender looks set to start the next match in Gameweek 23 and with good fixtures ahead, will be entering the minds of FPL managers ahead of the new round.

@HinduMonkey

Fantasy Football Community contributor and all around favourite within the community HM pulled up a popular topic this week. Since Arsenal signed Leandro Trossard many have questioned Gabriel Martinelli’s expected minutes moving forward.

The Brazilian played just 59 minutes in Gameweek 22, highlighting many managers fears for the Gameweek ahead. The switch from Martinelli to fellow midfielder and teammate Martin Ødegaard is looking ever appealing, especially for their double Gameweek in the next round.

@FplMode

Fantasy Football Scout contributor and experienced FPL manager Andy emphasised the importance of the triple captain chip in Gameweek 22. Many managers within the community chose to select Erling Haland as their triple captain in Gameweek 20 but will be left disappointed looking at Marcus Rashford’s current performance.

Man United completed the first half of their double Gameweek this weekend. The in-form Marcus Rashford rewarded triple captainers in his first game with a goal, assist and two bonus points, tallying to a huge 36 points.

@LetsTalk_FPL

Fantasy Football content creator Andy highlighted a really important takeaway during Gameweek 22. There was a lot of discussion within the community whether Bruno Fernandes or Marcus Rashford would take Manchester United’s penalties moving forward.

Bruno Fernandes stepped up to take a penalty against Crystal Palace this week, seemingly confirming the midfielder would be taking penalties in future. Many managers will be looking to sell Fernandes in Gameweek 23, but knowing he will be on spot kicks and having a match against Leeds next could hinder that move.

@FPLNym

FPL content creator and well respected manager Nym reiterated the obstacle of blank Gameweeks. Brighton have been in top form lately, scoring more goals than any other team in the league in the last six matches before Gameweek 22.

Brighton are scheduled to have a double Gameweek in Gameweek 25. This in turn has put managers off investing in their players. One of those players is Kaoru Mitoma. The midfielder has been in great form lately. Scoring in Gameweek 22, Mitoma added to his impressive run. He proved that sometimes attacking the fixture ahead rather than thinking long term can be rewarding.
