FPL Experts Ahead of Gameweek 1
We caught up with some FPL experts ahead of Gameweek 1. The experts included cover a range of different topics from chips and the best players to player and team form and more as we head into the first round of the new season.
Catching up with the FPL experts ahead of Gameweek 1 could be both fun and insightful. The experts cover some of the key topics ahead of the new round which could help bring clarity to some of the decisions we have to make in our own teams.
@FPLMarcin
Marcin was one of many within the community to highlight the return of Anthony Gordon (£7.5m). Gordon featured for England just once as they progressed through to the EURO 2024 final and as a result missed most of his sides pre-season.
However, as we can see Gordon returned with a bang after netting against Spanish side Girona. Newcastle open up their 24/25 league campaign with a fixture against newly promoted side Southampton and the Alexander Isak (£8.5m) and Gordon double up appears to be gaining momentum again.
@FplMode
One player who gained even more interest this week is Dominic Solanke (£7.5m). The Englishman was one of the best forwards in the league last season – scoring a huge 19 goals and three assists in just 38 matches.
Solanke appears to be heading over to Tottenham which seems to have piqued interest. Tottenham face newly promoted side Leicester in Gameweek 1, then Everton, Newcastle and Arsenal after that. The fixtures could prove challenging but a £7.5m striker playing for Tottenham could well be too difficult to ignore for many.

FPL Goat highlighted a very good topic this week. Deciding between budget goalkeepers can be one of the toughest decisions an FPL manager can make ahead of the season and there are plenty to choose from this time around.
One goalkeeper FPL Goat is tipping to be a very good asset early on is Crystal Palace’ Dean Henderson (£4.5m). The Eagles were one of the best sides in the league for expected goals conceded last season and they face Brentford, West Ham and Leicester in their first four fixtures which could mean plenty of potential.

Manchester City are one of the most talked about teams as we approach the Gameweek 1 deadline. One of the reasons for this is Pep Guardiola’s recent comments suggesting that ‘Spain and England’ players will not feature early on. The likes of Rodri, Phil Foden and John Stones are of course amongst those assets.
The above could mean we see an opportunity for midfielder Oscar Bobb (£5m). Not only has Bobb heavily featured during pre-season but he has also banked an impressive three assists and two goals in the process. At his price and playing for Manchester City could suggest he is one of the best budget attackers to start the campaign with.
@FPLOlympian
Manchester United don’t seem to be getting much attention during pre-season. FPL Olympian is one of few who could be keen. He suggests that midfielder Bruno Fernandes (£8.5m) may be worth keeping tabs on during the season.
Fernandes was once the highest scoring player in FPL and many believe he is past that form as an FPL asset. However, the Reds face Fulham, Brighton and Southampton in their first four matches. This alone could be enough to give the penalty taker a chance.
