Notes
- GW32 was pretty average for me as I effectively held rank. I dropped just 100 places overall.
- Going into GW33, I have two free transfers and a few decisions to make. This is because I’m planning to Free Hit in GW34 and therefore unable to roll a transfer. Jamaal Lascelles will almost certainly be one of my transfers out. In an ideal world, I’d like to replace him with a Manchester City or Manchester United defender, but neither appeal at the moment due to rotation and form concerns, respectively. So that may be a move I make closer to DGW37.
- I may therefore choose the safe option and replace Lascelles with a similarly priced Newcastle defender, such as Dan Burn, or Jan Paul van Hecke.
- My second transfer is likely to require additional thought. Before GW33, my planned move was to transfer out Bukayo Saka for Phil Foden. However, that move now looks unlikely. This is because Foden is at risk of rotation (and potentially an injury doubt) for the Luton game.
- Caoimhin Kelleher and Darwin Nuñez also need to be replaced ahead of DGW37. But, it doesn’t seem ideal to do that ahead of a home game against Crystal Palace.
- For now then, I’m lining up with Kelleher in goal and Gabriel, Malo Gusto and Rayan Aït-Nouri across the back. Destiny Udogie will be benched for Spurs’ trip to Newcastle.
- Aït-Nouri is another potential transfer out. However, as mentioned, there don’t seem to be many appealing defensive options right now who double in GW37.
- My midfielders will once again be Cole Palmer, Saka, Mohamed Salah and Son-Heung Min, with Salah currently my vice-captain.
- With Alejandro Garnacho available off the bench and facing Bournemouth this week, I could still risk the Saka to Foden transfer (providing he isn’t ruled out altogether by Pep Guardiola) and hope he doesn’t make a cameo appearance if benched.
- Thankfully, my forward line for GW33 looks fairly settled. Captain Erling Haaland will be flanked by Nuñez and Alexander Isak.
