FPL: @dmpwright’ Team Reveal for Gameweek 24

The Premier League season continues so we look to the new round. We bring in Fantasy Football Community and Fantasy Football Scout contributor @dmpwright to give you his FPL team reveal for Gameweek 24.

As we approach any given deadline, managers will be scrambling for clarity on some of the biggest decisions in the game like transfers and captaincy. Taking a look at @dmpwright’ team reveal for Gameweek 24 could benefit other managers when making those decisions.

Gameweek 24 Team Reveal (subject to change)

Notes

  • GW23 was another solid round. There I secured a third consecutive green arrow. I also improved my OR to 150k.
  • Going into GW24, I’m currently lining up in a 3-4-3 formation. Martin Dúbravka is between the sticks and Gabriel, William Saliba and Jamaal Lascelles sit in defence.
  • Lascelles is a placeholder. He will make way for a defender with a double in GW25 – more on that later.
  • My midfield remains unchanged as things stand. GW24’s standout performers, Phil Foden and Richarlison line up alongside Cole Palmer and Bukayo Saka.
  • Upfront, Erling Haaland is secure of his place. One of Dominic Solanke or Ollie Watkins are likely to be transferred out for Darwin Nuñez. This depends on the outcome of Aston Villa’s FA Cup Fourth Round replay against Chelsea and the rearrangement of Bournemouth’s fixture against Luton.
  • My transfers this week hinge on the fitness of Mohamed Salah, who is currently warming my bench alongside Pervis Estupiñan and the injured (?) Alphonse Areola and Charlie Taylor. It’s still unclear whether he will be available for Liverpool’s home fixture against Burnley. This in itself suggests he may close to a return to action. If that’s the case, I will keep him with a view to DGW25 and bring in Diogo Jota for Bukayo Saka. If Salah continues to be a doubt then Jota will come in for him instead.
  • Lascelles’ replacement depends on how much money I have left after I bring in Jota. My preference would be to transfer in Virgil Van Dijk. Although, that is contingent on transferring out Salah. Van Dijk looks to be the most secure Liverpool defender: Trent Alexander-Arnold would normally be the standout option but is still not fit enough to play 90 minutes according to Jürgen Klopp and is in do not buy, do not sell territory for me.
  • If Saka makes way for Jota then I will likely upgrade Lascelles to Nathan Aké. He has quietly started seven league matches in a row and offers a cheaper route into the Manchester City defence than the more popular Kyle Walker.
  • Captaincy for GW24 could be another tight affair. The likes of Haaland and Foden, in particular, off the back of his hattrick against Brentford, are likely to be popular based on their matchup, as is Jota. Richarlison is potentially a decent shout too. He faces a Brighton side who are in the bottom half for xGC over their last six away matches. However, it’s also worth noting that he’s overperforming in front of goal (nine goals scored since GW16 from a total of ~4.7 xG).
  • I have the armband on Haaland for the time being. Although, this may change nearer the deadline.
