The Liverpool attackers should gather the most appeal from managers. Mohamed Salah (£13.4m) will likely be the first name in many managers teams. Most will also opt for both Darwin Nunez (£7.6m) and Luis Diaz (£7.6m), both of which returned in their latest match. It could be worth waiting for the line-ups to release for a Liverpool defender, but the safest in terms of minutes is of course centre-back Virgil Van Dijk (£6.6m).

Backing the Manchester United attack could also be worth while based on their current scoring form. Again, it may be worth waiting for the line-ups but midfielders Bruno Fernandes (£8.2m) and Alejandro Garnacho (£4.9m) should be popular. Both players also scored in their recent game against Chelsea. Some may also take a chance with striker Rasmus Hojlund (£7m) who returned in four of his last six league matches.

Another team who will be popular in terms of investment this week is Chelsea as they clash with the worst side in the league. In defence the Blues have lots of cheap options from goalkeeper Djorde Petrovic (£4.6m) to full-back Malo Gusto (£4.3m), some may even opt for both.

The Chelsea attackers will also be in demand with the standout option being Cole Palmer (£6m). Palmer managed a huge 20-point haul in his latest game which meant he secured his third double-digit haul in a row. Other attacking options to consider would be striker Nicolas Jackson (£6.8m) and Mykhailo Mudryk (£6.3m).

From teams elsewhere managers should also be considering Tottenham’ Son Heung-Min (£10.1m), Manchester City attacking duo Erling Haaland (£14.3m) and Phil Foden (£8.2m), Newcastle’ Alexander Isak (£7.8m), Bournemouth’ Dominic Solanke (£7.2m) and Wolves defender Rayan Ait-Nouri (£4.7m).

Captaincy

Due to the Challenge this week, it could be wise to captain a Liverpool or Manchester United player. Captaining a player from either of these teams would multiply your final total by four. This is a huge advantage when compared to players not involved in this fixture.

The best captain this week is of course Mohamed Salah. The Egyptian takes penalties for his sides which is a huge appeal. However, he is also one of the best performing players in the league this season with 16 goals and nine assists.

For managers looking to back a different captain then Luis Diaz, Darwin Nunez or even Bruno Fernandes could be alternatives.

Hey Guys! In this section you are about to see two different team reveals. For managers that want to play the game in a set and forget/straight forward way then my below draft could help with that.

As you can see I have taken advantage of the FPL Challenge this week by stocking up on both Liverpool and Manchester United assets. I have opted for Manchester United attackers alone because I think they will concede. Even if Liverpool concede I think Van Dijk’ goal threat and Kelleher’ save points could bring in returns. The only other assets included in my draft are from Chelsea. The game against Sheffield United could mean big points for their players.

As bad as Chelsea have been defensively I think they’ll keep a clean sheet. I’m not massively interested in another attacker that isn’t Cole Palmer in this draft.

This draft may change when the line-ups are released. Kelleher will likely become Alisson if the latter starts.

For managers looking to take advantage of the loop holes in the game then I have also prepared another draft.

I’m still getting used to the hacks and loopholes myself! This is how I have set up so far.

Ok, so, Ait-Nouri plays early in the week. If he does well I’ll leave him to auto-sub in. If not, then I will upgrade the non-playing player to a Chelsea defender.

Chelsea play after Liverpool. This means that if the Liverpool players disappoint then I can sell them to non-playing players. This would then allow the Chelsea players in through auto sub. If Kelleher does well, then I’ll sell Petrovic to a non-playing goalkeeper. This also then allows me to get Kelleher’ points off the bench.

Captaincy is interesting. If Salah goes big then I will sell Porro to a non-playing player from Tottenham or Nottingham Forest. This would allow both another sub in from the bench and give me Salah’ points.

If Salah does not do well, then I will change the captaincy from Porro to Palmer. If the bench do well then I will then sell Porro to a flagged player.
