What is the Gameweek 30 Challenge?
This week the challenge is very straight forward. Managers can select a team with an unlimited budget. This means you can have as many expensive players as you’d like. However, that is providing you play a valid formation.
The Fixtures
This week we have some great fixtures to target. Those fixtures include Liverpool v Brighton, Spurs v Luton, and Chelsea v Burnley. With that in mind let’s take a look at some of the best players to pick for the round ahead.
FPL Challenge Gameweek 30 Top Picks
Reminder: You can select up to five players from each team!
Chelsea could be one of the best teams to buy from for FPL Challenge this week. Targeting the promoted sides appears to be a good strategy. This is because of how poor they have been this season.
In defence, full-back Malo Gusto stands out as the best defensive option. He has created two assists in his last four games. The lack of potential clean sheets this week could mean taking a chance on a double Chelsea defence with goalkeeper Djorde Petriovic.
In attack the standout option is of course midfielder Cole Palmer. But for those looking to target the poor Burnley defence further then striker Nicolas Jackson could be a great inclusion, especially after he returned in each of his last three matches.
Tottenham could be another popular side to buy from this week. The game against Luton is a huge opportunity to invest in both defensive and offensive players.
The lack of defender options across the board this week, combined with the attacking potential of the Tottenham full-backs makes their defenders some of the best to pick from. Managers could opt for Pedro Porro, Destiny Udogie or even both.
Luton rank as having one of the worst defences this season so Son Heung-Min could be an essential this week. Managers could double up in attack with James Maddison who has both scored and assisted in his last three matches.
Captaincy
As highlighted above Cole Palmer could have huge potential against Burnley this week. The same could be said for Son Heung-Min as he faces a meeting with Luton.
However, a third and potentially better option could be Mohamed Salah. The Liverpool midfielder was excellent prior to his injury and maintained some of the best attacking stats in the league.
Cole Palmer, Son Heung-Min and Mohamed Salah should all be considered for captaincy this week but over at FFC we are giving the latter the edge.
Let’s now check out the plans of our expert below.
@FPLReaction Challenge Team Reveal
Hey Guys! In this section you are about two see two different team reveals. For managers that want to play the game in a set and forget/straight forward way then my below draft could help with that.
I have really taken advantage of the five players from each side rule this week. I think both Chelsea and Tottenham will do really well against the promoted sides.
Filling the rest of my slots is captain Mohamed Salah, Fulham striker Rodrigo Muniz who faces the worst side in the league and Alexander Isak. Isak has been in great form recently and at home and on penalties gives him even more appeal.
For managers like me who are going to be taking advantage of the loop holes, then this next team is the one you should take notice of.
Due to the multiple deadlines managers can:
- Start four players who aren’t going to play and if your four players on the bench return, do nothing and allow those players to all come in with autosubs.
- Start four players who play late in the Gameweek, bench four players playing early in the week. If the players on the bench perform well, you can then sell the starting players who play later for flagged players. This allows the benched players to come in from auto subs.
- Vice Captain a player who plays early and captain a player who won’t play, if the vice captain does well then leave the captaincy. If the vice captain does not do well then upgrade your captain to a player who is yet to play.
With the above in mind this is my draft.
If I am happy with how my bench players perform then I will allow them to autosub in, if not then I will replace the flagged players with players playing later in the Gameweek.
In the meantime, if Cole Palmer does well then I will leave the captaincy on a player who won’t play and sell Garnacho for Salah. If I am not happy with Cole Palmer’ performance then I will upgrade my captain to Salah.
