FPL Challenge Gameweek 27 is here. With exciting new badges to earn and prizes to win FPL Challenge have made some massive changes. With that in mind our tips and team reveal could be exactly what you need to have success.
What is the Challenge this week?

The Challenge for Gameweek 27 is ‘Team Chemistry’.
Players from the Assistant Managers Club earn double points.
You can play an Assistant Manager this week.
Budget is £100m and Challengers have to select 10 players and one manager.
You can also own up to five assets from each club
Goalkeepers

A home match for Chelsea could be a great opportunity to bounce back this week after a rough period of results. The Blues come up against Southampton, who have scored less goals than any other side this campaign. With that, Filip Jørgensen (£4.2m) could be a great option.
West Ham’ recent clean sheet against Arsenal is evidence that they are capable from a defensive perspective. It could also give them a boost that they play Leicester. The Foxes have failed to score in any of their previous three games, which could make Alphonse Areola (£4.2m) a good pick.
Back-to-back clean sheets in the Premier League suggests Brentford could be a consideration. Helping them achieve that was Mark Flekken (£4.4m), who faces Everton this week. The Toffees have improved recently, so Flekken could also have save point potential.
Other goalkeepers worth picking include Fulham’ Bernd Leno (£5m) v Wolves and Liverpool’ Alisson Becker (£5.5m) for his game against Newcastle at home.
Defenders

Chelsea may be out of sorts, but Southampton have lost seven of their previous eight matches and sit rock bottom in the league. Investing in the Chelsea defence could be hugely beneficial this week and one of their safest and most attacking options is Marc Cucurella (£5.1m). Some could also consider Chelsea centre-back Levi Colwill (£4.4m) and Reece James (£4.8m), if he starts.
The fixtures seem fairly awkward from a defensive perspective this week, so bringing in defenders who have attacking threat could be crucial. One of those players is Fulham full-back Antonee Robinson (£5.1m), who has produced a huge 10 assists already this season.
Liverpool have a tough home clash on paper this week against Newcastle. But, considering they sit as the best defence in the league when it comes to total clean sheets, they could be worth buying into. The standout pick is Trent Alexander-Arnold (£7.4m), he has returned in five of his previous six games.
There are several other good options with potential this week, including Crystal Palace’ Daniel Munoz (£4.9m) against Aston Villa, Gabriel (£6.3m) who faces Nottingham Forest with Arsenal, and Aaron Wan-Bissaka (£4.4m) for his match v Leicester.
Midfielders

Chelsea should have Challengers focus this week. As well as facing a Southampton side who rank worst in the league for total goals conceded, the Saints also sit the worst for underlying metrics like total big chances and shots on target conceded. Because of this, penalty taker Cole Palmer (£11.1m) could be a shoo-in. Southampton have it in them to capitulate defensively, so adding other Chelsea midfielders like Pedro Neto (£6.2m) and Christopher Nkunku (£5.7m) could be beneficial.
Southampton may be poor defensively, but Leicester aren’t far off them in terms of total goals conceded. With this in mind, Challengers may want to turn their attention to West Ham talisman Jarrod Bowen (£7.3m). Bowen goes into the meeting in top form after securing two 10-point returns in his previous three games.
Newcastle’ recent game against Nottingham Forest is an example of how ropey they can be defensively against good sides. This was also seen in their 4-0 loss against Manchester City in Gameweek 25. One player who could take advantage of this is the relentless Mohamed Salah (£13.7m). The Liverpool penalty taker has produced a huge three double-digit hauls in his last four games alone.
There are plenty of good midfield options to pick from this week, including Brentford’ Bryan Mbeumo (£8m) against Everton, Manchester United’ Bruno Fernandes (£8.3m) for his clash against Ipswich, and Bournemouth’ Justin Kluivert (£6m) as he faces Brighton.
Forwards

There seems to be a lack of convincing forward options this week, but one player who could offer potential is Yoane Wissa (£6.4m). Brentford clash with a ropey Everton defence next up, and Wissa goes into the match off the back of scoring in Gameweek 26.
Other strikers Challengers could select include: Raul Jimenez (£5.6m) for Fulham up against Wolves, Wolves penalty taker Matheus Cunha (£6.9m) in the same match, Ipswich’ Liam Delap (£5.6m) against Manchester United, and Manchester City’ Erling Haaland (£14.7m) against Tottenham if starting.
Assistant Managers

One assistant manager who should be popular this week is Enzo Maresca (£1.5m). Not only do Chelsea go into the game as heavy favourites to win their match against Southampton, but they also have a great opportunity to both keep a clean sheet and score plenty of goals.
Graham Potter (£0.5m) will be expected to make it back-to-back wins this week for the first time under his tenure. West Ham meet with a woeful Leicester City side, which could give the Hammers plenty of potential both defensively and offensively.
Several Challengers will be looking at picking assistant managers who have table bonus this week. For those hoping to take the risk with one then the likes of Oliver Glasner (£0.8m) for a home match against Aston Villa with Crystal Palace, Wolves’ Vitor Pereira (£0.8m) v Fulham, and Tottenham’ Ange Postecoglou (£1.1m) up against Manchester City could be viable.
@FPLReaction Team Reveal

- Picking Maresca obviously gives me double points for Chelsea assets. It’s slightly annoying that I can’t have more Chelsea players this week, because at the moment it doesn’t feel like I have gone aggressive enough. Double defence and double attack just doesn’t feel like I have enough coverage to gain rank if Chelsea do very well.
- Captaincy is straight forward for Cole Palmer this week, earning quad points for any returns.
- I really like my Brentford double-up in attack, based on the fact they play at home. There aren’t many convincing forward picks either so I feel forced towards Wissa.
- I’m not completely convinced by my West Ham duo, but they should do well.
- My Liverpool double-up is there because of their excellent overall form.
Gameweek 26 Challenge Review

- Last week was eventful to say the least. Pedro Porro not starting made me try my luck with the quad Arsenal defence, and they of course lost 1-0.
- Another late change was from Danny Welbeck to teammate Joao Pedro, which proved crucial for me.
- Captain Salah went as expected, and both Mitoma and Mbeumo did well, unlike my Bournemouth midfield duo.
- Glasner picked up 20 points, which was a huge influence on my round.
- This week, although mixed, with the Arsenal defence and Bournemouth duo, I collected 94 points. This gave me a round rank of 5.7k (somehow) and boosted me right back up to 814th in the world.
- Good luck this week, surely Chelsea don’t let me down, again.
