In this article, we present to you our FPL Challenge Gameweek 26 tips and team reveal. As well as picking out some of the best players for the round ahead specific to the Challenge structure we also bring in @FPLReaction to share his team and thoughts ahead of the new round.

FPL Challenge Gameweek 26 is here. With exciting new badges to earn and prizes to win FPL Challenge have made some massive changes. With that in mind our tips and team reveal could be exactly what you need to have success.

What is the Challenge this week?

The Challenge for Gameweek 26 is ‘The Assistant Manager GW3’.

You can play an Assistant manager this week.

Budget is £100m and Challengers have to select 10 players and one manager.

You can also own up to five players from each club

Top Picks – Goalkeepers

FPL Challenge Gameweek 26

Arsenal have a great fixture at home against West Ham this week. The Gooners seem to be translating their excellent data into actual clean sheets as of late – keeping two in their previous three matches. Between the sticks for Arsenal is of course David Raya (£5.5m), who could be one of the best goalkeeper options this week.

Back-to-back clean sheets against Chelsea recently could make Brighton a more appealing defence to invest in. The Seagulls come up against Southampton, who rank as the worst side in the league for total goals scored. With that in mind, Bart Verbruggen (£4.5m) could have potential.

There are several great goalkeeper picks that Challengers could opt for this week. Among those include: Bournemouth’ Kepa Arrizabalaga (£4.6m) who faces Wolves at home and Brentford’ Mark Flekken (£4.4m) who meets with a poor Leicester attack.

Defenders

West Ham have lost three of their last four matches, so we haven’t seen much improvement since new manager Graham Potter came in. The Hammers also failed to score in two of those same games, which highlights their bluntness in front of goal. One player who could take advantage of that, and who also offers goal threat from set-plays is centre-back Gabriel (£6.3m).

There seems to be a lack of outstanding defensive options this week, so it could be worth bringing in defenders who have attacking threat. This fits what Fulham’ Antonee Robinson (£5.1m) offers. The American goes into his home game against Crystal Palace having managed 10 assists already this campaign.

Pedro Porro (£5.4m) seems to be maintaining a good run of form recently. The Tottenham full-back has collected a six-point return in all three of his previous matches. Ipswich lay ahead, which could be a fantastic opportunity to display both his defensive and offensive potential.

Other defender options with potential this week include: Arsenal’ William Saliba (£6.2m), Bournemouth’ Milos Kerkez (£5m) and Daniel Munoz (£4.8m) of Crystal Palace.

Midfielders

FPL Challenge Gameweek 26

Bournemouth could be the standout team to buy a midfielder from this week. As well as scoring 12 goals in their previous four games, the Cherries come up against a Wolves side who rank third worst in the league for total goals conceded. Penalty taker Justin Kluivert (£6m) may well be a shoo-in for many Challengers this week, after banking 50 points in his last five matches. Both Dango Ouattara (£5.1m) and Antoine Semenyo (£5.7m) are also in excellent form.

Leicester’ woeful form makes targeting them an easy decision for Challengers this week. Whilst Brentford have other viable options in midfield, the standout is clearly penalty taker Bryan Mbeumo (£7.9m). Mbeumo will be hoping to recapture his previous form after bagging just one return in his last five matches.

No side in the league have shipped more goals than Southampton this season. Because of this, and taking into account Brighton’ recent uptake in attacking form, Challengers should be interested. Their most in-form midfielder is arguably Kaoru Mitoma (£6.3m), who has produced three double-digit hauls in his latest five Premier League matches.

There is an abundance of midfield options this week, some others include Liverpool’ Mohamed Salah (£13.7m) against Manchester City, Chelsea’ Cole Palmer (£11.2m) v Aston Villa, and James Maddison (£7.4m) of Tottenham.

Forwards

Brighton’ game against Southampton is just too good to ignore from an attacking perspective. Whilst Joao Pedro is a minutes risk, Danny Welbeck (£5.5m) continues to lead the attack. He goes into his next match off the back of scoring against Chelsea in Gameweek 25.

Only Southampton have conceded more shots in the box than Leicester this season, which further highlights them as a team to target. An alternative route into the Brentford attack is Yoane Wissa (£6.3m), who has banked three returns in his last five outings.

Newcastle play Nottingham Forest in this weeks fixture. That may be the case but Alexander Isak (£9.5m) has been relentless this season. Nottingham Forest have shipped seven goals in their last three league games, so Isak could well have potential.

Other good striker picks include: Crystal Palace’ Jean Philippe Mateta (£7.3m) against Fulham, Everton’ in-form Norberto Beto (£4.9m) up against Manchester United, and Wolves bonus magnet and penalty taker Matheus Cunha (£6.8m) against Bournemouth.

Assistant Managers

Arsenal have won their last three league matches, so go into their clash with West Ham in top form. Meanwhile, the Hammers have lost three of their previous four fixtures. Taking both into account, Mikel Arteta (£1.5m) could be a great option.

Another team you could rely on to get a good result this week is of course Brighton. The Seagulls appear to be picking up some form and face a side who have lost seven of their last eight outings. For those reasons, Fabian Hurzeler (£1.1m) could be a great pick.

Challengers looking for table bonus could look to Crystal Palace’ Oliver Glasner (£0.8m). The Eagles are hit and miss but could trip Fulham up away from home this week. Joining him as another viable option is Wolves’ Vitor Pereira (£0.8m), as he faces off with Bournemouth.

@FPLReaction Team Reveal

FPL Challenge Gameweek 26
  • This team looks really nice on paper this week.
  • I’m going all out on the Arsenal defence, with limited clean sheet potential elsewhere. Porro makes the team, on current form.
  • The Bournemouth attack needs at least a double up this week, and you’d argue Mbeumo and Mitoma are also essential.
  • Salah is my captain this week, his form is relentless.
  • Doubling up on the Brighton attack seems crucial, so I have gone for Welbeck.
  • Glasner fills my assistant manager role. I could revert to Arteta, but Glasner has table bonus against Fulham this week.

Gameweek 25 Challenge Review

FPL Challenge Gameweek 26
  • Last week was another poor one. Slot did fine but Emery did better and that was a big issue for me and my rank.
  • I swapped out Van Dijk for Trent when I saw the latter was playing, and that worked out.
  • Captaining Salah and bringing in Watkins when I saw him starting also went well, but I think they were very template moves among the most engaged Challengers.
  • Overall I hit 106 points, a round rank of 55k, and dropped to around 1.3k globally. We need to get back up there this week.
