FPL Challenge Gameweek 2 is here. With exciting new badges to earn and prizes to win FPL Challenge have made some massive changes. With that in mind our tips and team reveal could be exactly what you need to have success.

What is the Challenge this week?

As we can see the Challenge for Gameweek 2 is ‘All Out Attack’.

Fantasy managers can only pick one goalkeeper and four forwards. We can also see that goals are worth double points.

Fixtures

Above we can see all 10 Premier League meetings for Gameweek 2.

Manchester City v Ipswich, Fulham v Leicester, Spurs v Everton, Bournemouth v Newcastle, Wolves v Chelsea and Liverpool v Brentford could all be great fixtures to invest in at first glance.

Due to the Challenge our focus is on forwards, so let’s take a look at some of the best for the round ahead.

Top Picks

There are several standout forward options this week but none more convincing then Erling Haaland (£15m). Haaland continued his pre-season form of five goals in four matches by netting against Chelsea in Gameweek 1.

Manchester City have one of the best fixtures a team can face on paper as they clash with newly promoted Ipswich at home. The Tractor Boys conceded 2+ goals in 16 of their matches in the Championship last season which is something Manchester City and Haaland can take advantage of.

Another player who could be difficult to resist for managers this week is Alexander Isak (£8.5m). Newcastle started the season with a 1-0 win over Southampton. After bettering every other side for big chances total last season the Magpies will surely build on that.

Playing a huge part in Newcastle’s offensive success last campaign was Isak who racked up an impressive 21 goals. Isak has a fantastic opportunity to score his first goal of the season against Bournemouth in the round ahead.

FPL managers have lots of other great forward options to fill their slots with this week. Fulham face a meeting with newly promoted Leicester this week and Rodrigo Muniz (£6m) is likely to get plenty of attention after his 23/24 campaign.

Similar to Fulham Crystal Palace also play their first match at home of the new season. Jean Philippe Mateta (£7.5m) goes into the game off the back of five Olympic goals and a 45 minute feature in Gameweek 1. The Frenchman could punish West Ham this week as the Hammers adjust to life under a manager.

After a lively performance in Gameweek 1 many could be looking to new Spurs signing Dominic Solanke (£7.5m). Everton lay ahead this week and after shipping three goals in Gamweeek 1 they could be a team to target.

Some may also want to take a chance on the newly promoted teams as their fixtures ease this week. Southampton’ Adam Armstrong (£5.5m) came close in the first round whilst Leicester’ Jamie Vardy (£5.5m) went one better with his goal. Both also take penalties for their sides which adds to their appeal.

Notes

With only £35m to spend I found it extremely difficult to make a team that I like. I think this is exactly what the game wanted. It was even more difficult to get Erling Haaland in mind in my draft as he eats into almost half of my budget.

Even with the above in mind I felt that Haaland offers much more than a well balanced side. As well as being the only striker I think could go off massively in terms of output, I also think he is essential for captaincy.

Including Haaland has forced me into owning both Jamie Vardy and Adam Armstrong which is fine because they both take penalties and both have good fixtures.

One of the biggest sacrifices I have had to make including Erling Haaland is my fourth striker slot. I have gone for Bournemouth’s Daniel Jebbison (£4.5m) for now. Jebbison may not start but he featured in Gameweek 1.

In-between the sticks I have opted for Dean Henderson (£4.5m). Henderson has a home match against West Ham and he is nice and cheap.
