FPL: Buy, Sell and Keep for Gameweek 33

Debating which players are a buy, sell or keep for Gameweek 33 could be quite challenging. There are lots of factors to consider this week including the set of fixtures in the round ahead, injuries, upcoming Blank Gameweeks and upcoming Double Gameweeks.

Note: Some teams and players will feature in different sections of buy, sell and keep for Gameweek 33. This is because we take into account managers with different chip strategies.

Buy

Arsenal – Those without a Free Hit to navigate Double Gameweek 34 should focus in on Arsenal assets, especially with a home match against Aston Villa and a Double Gameweek after that. Goalkeeper David Raya (£5.1m) could be one of the cheapest routes into the defence. Ben White (£5.9m), William Saliba (£5.9m) and Gabriel (£5.4m) are also viable options. In attack, as well as Bukayo Saka (£8.9m), Kai Havertz (£7.3m) and Martin Odegaard (£8.6m) are also brilliant picks.

Brentford – The Bees have been inconsistent but their fixtures are fantastic looking ahead. Those with a Free Hit and those without could take advantage of their schedule starting with a match against Sheffield United. At the back cheap enablers like goalkeeper Mark Flekken (£4.6m) and defender Sergio Reguilon (£4.4m) could have potential. Most of Brentford’ appeal comes from attackers like penalty taker Ivan Toney (£8.1m). However, the recently returned midfielder Bryan Mbeumo (£6.7m) could also have huge potential.

Dominic Solanke (£7.3m) – Those without a Free Hit for Gameweek 34 will probably want to prioritise this man. The Cherries come up against a poor Manchester United defence next up and a Double Gameweek immediately after. Solanke has managed an impressive 16 goals this season so investing now could be key.

Chelsea – Those with a Free Hit for Gameweek 34 will want to focus on Chelsea, especially as they face two double Gameweeks from now until the end of the season. The defence hasn’t been as efficient as we would hope but coverage could be key. With that in mind goalkeeper Djorde Petrovic (£4.6m) and full-back Malo Gusto (£4.3m) could be the standout picks. In attack, other than penalty taker and midfielder Cole Palmer (£6.1m), some could also consider Nicolas Jackson (£6.8m).

Manchester United – The Reds are another side those with the Free Hit will want to target. They play Bournemouth this week, then face Burnley, Crystal Palace and a Double Gameweek after that. The standout option at the back could be full-back Diogo Dalot (£5.2m) who has some attacking potential. Others may prefer goalkeeper Andre Onana (£4.9m). In attack cheap enabler Alejandro Garnacho (£4.9m) managed four attacking returns in his last four games.

Liverpool – Liverpool face Crystal Palace then immediately after a Double Gameweek. In defence the safest pick in terms of minutes is centre-back Virgil van Dijk (£6.6m). In attack Mohamed Salah (£13.4m) is the standout. Another great pick could be Luis Diaz (£7.6m) who has returned in his last three matches.

Sell

Aston Villa – Aston Villa are not only one of few teams who do not have a Double Gameweek in the remainder of the season, but they also face Arsenal, Chelsea, Brighton and Liverpool in the next six rounds. As well as all of other players, Ollie Watkins (£8.8m) could also be considered as a sell.

Bukayo Saka (£8.9m) – Whilst those without the Free Hit may want to hold onto Saka for Double Gameweek 34, those without may not. This is because he faces Aston Villa, Tottenham and Manchester United in the next several rounds, he is fairly expensive, blocks a midfield spot and may see rotation with Champions League matches ahead.

Bournemouth – Now although we had Dominic Solanke in the buy section for managers without the Free Hit, those with it could decide to sell. This is the same for Bournemouth assets in general as they could all be blocking Gameweek 34 slots. The also play Brighton and Arsenal after Gameweek 34 as well.

Phil Foden (£8.3m) – Managers without the Free Hit this week could well be looking to offload Foden. Foden picked up an injury midweek. Whether or not this was serious, it is very likely he won’t feature against Luton. Keeping him could be very difficult as he blocks and all-important midfield spot in our teams.

Keep

Chelsea – The Blues face Everton next, then Arsenal in Gameweek 34, then two Double Gameweeks in the remainder of the season. Because of that, whether you are using the Free Hit or not in Gameweek 34, it could be worth holding onto all Chelsea assets.

Liverpool – Other than the players mentioned in the Buy section, it could be difficult to know what to do with the rest of their players. Players like Diogo Jota, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Alisson have returned from injury. This means that goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher (£3.9m), full-back Conor Bradley (£4.3m) and striker Darwin Nunez (£7.7m) could have their minutes managed moving forward. However, prior to the double it could be wise to hold for now. This gives managers time to monitor the situation.

Jarrod Bowen (£7.9m) – Regardless of chip strategy, holding Bowen if fit, could be hugely rewarding. He plays at home to Fulham next and goes into the game off the back of 16 points in his last three. Managers may want to wait to sell until after this week.
