FPL: Buy Sell and Keep for Gameweek 21
The 20th round of Fantasy Premier League is over so we look to the next and look at which players are a buy sell and keep for Gameweek 21. Whether that be through injury, team and player form or other factors we advise the potential fate of assets in your teams.
Looking at players who are a buy sell and keep for Gameweek 21 could be extremely beneficial to FPL managers. Knowing what to do with assets in your team can ultimately bring clarity with transfer use, captaincy and chip strategy.
Buy
- Gabriel (£5m) & William Saliba (£5.6m) – Arsenal have a great fixture this week against an out-of-form Crystal Palace. They are also maintaining some of the best defensive data in the league so buying any of these two players could be rewarding,
- Bukayo Saka (£9m) – Arsenal will be desperate for a win this week after losing their last two matches in a row. The lack of midfield options and Salah and Son’s departure to their national sides makes Saka an even better option for his match ahead.
- Ollie Watkins (£8.9m) – Aston Villa are one of the most efficient attacks in the league this season and they come up against a declining Everton defence this week. For those that still don’t own Ollie Watkins he could be considered as an essential. Watkins sits as the third highest scorer in the game because of his relentless form this season.
- Leon Bailey (£5.7m) – It could be a great time to invest in Bailey with all of the issues in midfield at the moment. Bailey is starting every match for Aston Villa and as well as a great fixtures this week they have a great schedule ahead of them.
- Pervis Estupinan (£4.9m) – The Brighton full-back has heaps of attacking potential. Prior to his injury Estupinan managed one goal and three assists in just seven league matches. Upon his return he scored immediately in the league and in the cup this week.
- Pascal Gross (£6.4m) – Finding a way into the efficient Brighton frontline has been challenging this season. However, Gross has played more minutes than any other teammate and edges them for FPL points and non-penalty expected goal involvement.
- Cole Palmer (£5.6m) – For those that still do not own Cole Palmer and looking for a replacement for Salah and Son then he could be one of the standout picks. Palmer takes penalties and has also managed two double-digit hauls in his last four matches.
- Phil Foden (£7.8m) – Manchester City face a poor Newcastle defence up next. Because of this and their recent form Foden could be a great pick. Foden has bagged a huge six attacking returns in his last four matches.
- Erling Haaland (£13.9m) – Monitoring news of his injury status will be absolutely crucial. If fit then Haaland could be a priority transfer in this week. This isn’t just because of his fantastic stats but he could also be the standout captaincy option.
- Jarrod Bowen (£8.1m) – Similar to Haaland, awaiting news on Bowen’ recent cup injury will be key. If declared fit then Bowen has a game against an awful Sheffield United defence up next. This means he could have huge potential.
Sell
- Gabriel Jesus (£8m) – Arsenal may have a good fixture ahead but Jesus picked up an injury during the week. Not only is Jesus a doubt for the game ahead but he also been poor recently. In fact the Brazilian has blanked in all three of his last matches.
- Kaoru Mitoma (£6.4m) – Mitoma has joined his national side for the Asia Cup tournament. Japan are one of the strong favourites to win the competition so Mitoma could be absent for several weeks.
- Simon Adingra (£5m) – Adingra is another Brighton attacker with his national side. Ivory Coast are one of the several favourites for AFCON which could rule Adingra out for sometime.
- Michael Olise (£5.9m) – Good sources suggest Olise could miss out on both matches in January due to his injury.
- Kieran Trippier (£6.7m) – Newcastle have been one of the worst defences in the league as of late. Their underlying data has been terrible and they come up against Manchester City next up and Aston Villa after that. With that in mind Trippier could be a sell.
- Son Heung-Min (£9.8m) & Mohamed Salah (£13.2m) – This is a tough one in terms of Buy Sell and Keep for Gameweek 21. If Erling Haaland is declared fit then selling one or both could help to fund his return. Either way both players are likely to be with their national sides for several Gameweeks. This is due to their sides being favourites in the respective competitions.
- Mohammed Kudus (£6.9m) – Kudus is also with his national side Ghana due to AFCON. He is also likely to be unavailable for at least two Gameweeks.
- Hwan Hee- Chan (£5.7m) – Hwang is also playing for his national side South Korea in the Asia Cup. His side are one of the big favourites to win the competition so he could be out of actions for some weeks.
Hold
- Moussa Diaby (£6.6m) – Diaby may be a frustrating player to own but he did not start in the cup this week. This could be a good sign he starts this week against Everton. He also started in Gameweek 20 and scored.
- Dominic Solanke (£7.1m) – Solanke missed out on the cup match midweek and his manager also indicated that some players had minor injuries. If Solanke is one of them and could return for Liverpool this week then he is a hold. Solanke has been excellent recently and has been maintaining some of the best underlying attacking data in the division. He also has good fixtures after this week.
- Trent Alexander-Arnold (£8.5m) – Liverpool may have tough fixtures ahead but they have also been one of the best defences in the league this season. Trent has been fantastic recent – returning in eight of his last 10 matches as well.
- Darwin Nunez (£7.4m) – As frustrating as he can be for owners Nunez is a hold. The absence of Salah to AFCON could mean Nunez take over as the main man in attack. He also has a good opportunity against Bournemouth next who shipped three goals against Tottenham in the last round.
- Julian Alvarez (£7m) – There is no telling what the return of Erling Haaland will do for Alvarez’ minutes. But, we have to remember that Alvarez ranks as one of the Manchester City’ most reliable players in terms of PL minutes this season. Even if Haaland does return Alvarez could do some serious damage to a poor Newcastle defence.
- Richarlison (£6.9m) – Some may be concerned that Tottenham have Manchester United ahead but don’t be. Tottenham have been sustaining some fantastic offensive data this season. Richarlison is also in form – returning in four of his last five matches.
- Pedro Porro (£5.7m) – Some may also be worried about Pedro Porro with Manchester United ahead. But, only Trent beats Porro for non-penalty expected goal involvement amongst defenders this season.
