FPL: Buy Sell and Keep for Gameweek 20

Last modified date

The round of Fantasy Premier League is over so we look to the next and look at which players are a buy sell and keep for Gameweek 20. Whether that be through injury, team and player form or other factors we advise the potential fate of assets in your teams.

Looking at players who are a buy sell and keep for Gameweek 20 could be extremely beneficial to FPL managers. Knowing what to do with assets in your team can ultimately bring clarity with transfer use, captaincy and chip strategy.

Buy

  • Aston Villa – With Leicester next and good fixtures ahead, Aston Villa assets could be worth investing in. At the back Ezri Konsa (£4.4m) comes in nice and cheap, although full-back Lucas Digne (£4.6m) has more attacking potential. Whilst midfielder Morgan Rogers (£5.5m) serves his one-match ban this week, striker Ollie Watkins (£8.8m) will be available. Watkins scored a penalty and created an assist in his previous match.
  • Bryan Mbeumo (£7.6m) and Yoane Wissa (£6.2m) – It could be time to bring back both assets. Brentford face the worst team in the league next, then a ropey Manchester City defence immediately after that. So, both players could have huge potential against them and the good fixtures afterwards.
  • Fulham – Ipswich next and good fixtures after that suggests Fulham are a team to invest in. Defender Antonee Robinson (£4.9m) is the standout pick, after bagging seven assists this season. But, a cheap route into the defence is Timothy Castagne (£4.2m). Striker Raul Jimenez (£5.5m) regularly leads the attack, where-as midfielder Alex Iwobi (£5.9m) could be more reliable in terms of gametime.
  • Manchester City – Although inconsitent, fixtures could bring form for defenders Rico Lewis (£4.6m) and the more attacking Josko Gvardiol (£6m). Although scoring in his latest match, it may not be enough to warrant buying Erling Haaland (£14.8m) based on his price-tag. However, a much cheaper option is midfielder Phil Foden (£9.2m), who banked an assist in Gameweek 19.
  • Alexander Isak (£9.2m) and Anthony Gordon (£7.4m) – The fixtures ahead could see Newcastle continue their excellent scoring form. Isak is a priority ahead of his midfield teammate but Gordon has still returned in his last four matches.
  • Nottingham Forest – They have been exceptional this season and their assets are very nicely priced. At the back, goalkeeper Matz Sels (£4.8m) could be a great option. However, both centre-back Nikola Milenković (£4.7m) and full-back Ola Aina (£5.1m) offer attacking threat. Midfielder Anthony Elanga (£5.2m) is one of the cheapest and most effective routes into the frontline. But, the standout option in attack is striker and penalty taker Chris Wood (£6.7m), who has been excellent this season.

Sell

  • Erling Haaland (£14.8m) – Manchester City may have great fixtures, but Haaland has been performing way below his price-tag recently. With options like Mohamed Salah and Cole Palmer being much cheaper and delivering much more in terms of points, selling the Norwegian remains a priority.
  • Manchester United – They may have Southampton at home after Liverpool, but they face some extremely awkward fixtures long term. The Reds have been woeful recently, and all signs suggest that could continue. With that in mind, selling the likes of midfielders Bruno Fernandes (£8.3m) and Amad Diallo (£5.4m) should be a consideration.
  • Tottenham – Another mid-table side playing inconsistently is Spurs. Ange Postecoglu’ men ultimately cost too much money when taking into account their actual output. They also come up against and in-form Newcastle and Arsenal in their next two matches. Defender Pedro Porro (£5.5m), striker Dominic Solanke (£7.5m) and midfielder Son Heung-Min (£9.9m) should all be considered for the chopping block.
  • Wolves – Wolves may have a new manager and a slight uplift in form, but they come up five of the top six placed sides in the Premier League next up. It could be a great opportunity to replace the likes of defender Rayan Ait Nouri (£4.8m), and forwards Strand Larsen (£5.5m) and Matheus Cunha (£7.1m).

Keep

  • Arsenal – The Gooners may face Brighton, Tottenham and Aston Villa next, but all three teams have been inconsistent this season. So, for the likes of defensive assets like goalkeeper David Raya (£5.6m) and centre-back Gabriel (£6.4m), and attackers including midfielder Gabriel Martinelli (£6.8m) and striker Gabriel Jesus (£6.8m), it could be worth holding onto them. Some may even decide they want to bring in the names mentioned.
  • Antoine Semenyo (£5.6m) – There is an argument to sell him for the fixtures ahead. But selling him ahead of a home match against Everton could be a huge mistake.
  • Joao Pedro (£5.7m) – The above can be said for this man. Although un-convincing recently, bar his two assists in Gameweek 19, the Brazilian penalty taker is key for the Brighton attack and faces Ipswich and Manchester United immediately after Arsenal.
  • Chelsea – Enzo Maresca recently rested key players and it appeared to have cost him and his side against Ipswich. With great fixtures ahead still, and unlikely to fall victim to rotation so soon after the recent loss, players like striker Nicolas Jackson (£8.2m) and goalkeeper Robert Sanchez (£4.8m) are well worth keeping long-term, along with the arguably essential midfielder Cole Palmer (£11.4m).
  • Crystal Palace – A poor performance against Southampton in Gameweek 19, and Chelsea ahead could put FPL managers off keeping Crystal Palace assets. But taking into account Chelsea’ recent form and matches against Leicester and West Ham after that, it could be wise to stick.
