FPL: Buy Sell and Keep for Gameweek 20

The 19th round of Fantasy Premier League is over so we look to the next and look at which players are a buy sell and keep for Gameweek 20. Whether that be through injury, team and player form or other factors we advise the potential fate of assets in your teams.

Looking at players who are a buy sell and keep for Gameweek 20 could be extremely beneficial to FPL managers. Knowing what to do with assets in your team can ultimately bring clarity with transfer use, captaincy and chip strategy.

Buy

Arsenal – The title challengers face a poor Fulham side this week. They also have great fixtures after that which makes their players a buy. In defence William Saliba (£5.6m) is the safest route into the backline for minutes. Fellow centre-back Gabriel (£5m) is cheaper than Saliba and scored recently but his minutes are less guaranteed. In attack penalty taker Bukayo Saka (£9m) is the standout but striker Gabriel Jesus (£8m) has picked up three returns in his last four matches.

Aston Villa – They come up against the worst team in the league next up in Burnley. Aston Villa also have an excellent schedule after that. At the back the most secure option in terms of minutes could be Ezri Konsa (£4.6m). Fellow centre-back Pau Torres (£4.7m) will be very reliable long-term and has shown goal threat this season. In attack the standout pick is Ollie Watkins (£8.8m) who has already managed 15 goal contributions this campaign. Another great option is midfielder Leon Bailey (£5.6m). He seems preferred over Moussa Diaby based on his recent gametime.

Chelsea – Luton at home may be tough but they have shipped the fourth most goals at home this season. Some could consider right back Malo Gusto (£4.1m). Gusto seems to be filling in for the injured Reece James and he also registered an assist in his last game. The standout pick in the frontline is Cole Palmer (£5.6m). Palmer missed the last game due to suspension and looks set to continue with his penalty taking duty.

Manchester City – They come up against Sheffield United this week, one of two teams maintaining extremely poor defensive and attacking data. Kyle Walker (£5.3m) could be the safest pick at the back for minutes. In attack Julian Alvarez (£6.8m) is the striker filling in for Erling Haaland. Alvarez also seems to be taking penalties as shown when he converted one in his most recent game. Phil Foden (£7.6m) is also a great option. He looks fantastic for gametime moving forward and scored in both of his last two matches.

Tottenham – They come up against an in-form Bournemouth this week. Tottenham however have proven that they can score against any side so far. Although unlikely to keep a clean sheet full-back Pedro Porro (£5.6m) has picked up five returns in his last seven matches. In attack midfielder Richarlison (£6.8m) looks like he will continue to lead the line. The Brazilian has returned in all three of his last matches. Some should also look at Dejan Kulusevski (£7.2m) who banked two double-digit hauls in his last five matches.

Jarrod Bowen (£7.9m) – Bowen faces some of the worst defences in the league ahead and has managed three returns in his last four matches. The midfielder is vital for his side which makes him a brilliant pick when considering gametime moving forward.

Sell

Kaoru Mitoma (£6.5m) – The Brighton man was expected to depart for the Asia Cup after this week but he picked up an injury which could rule him out until February.

Simon Adingra (£5m) – Adingra was also supposed to be leaving for AFCON after this week but an injury seems to have ruled him out until January 30th.

Kostas Tsimikas (£4.8m) – The Liverpool full-back has been a great option for FPL managers since filling in for the injured Andy Robertson. However, the Greek international damaged his shoulder in a recent game which could see him out for a while.

Erling Haaland (£13.9m) – The Norwegian remains an awkward case in our buy sell and keep for Gameweek 20 article. Haaland is yet to train since his injury so monitoring news will be key. If confirmed out then he could be a sell for another striker option.

Newcastle – Newcastle seem to be struggling recently which is a major concern as they face Liverpool next and tough fixtures after. Defender Kieran Trippier (£6.9m) seems to be completely off the boil and without clean sheets he has much less value. Strikers Alexander Isak (£7.6m) and Callum Wilson (£7.9m) have proven to be huge rotation risks and with the games ahead there are better alternatives up front.

Cristian Romero (£5m) – The Tottenham centre-back picked up an injury recently. His return date states that we may not see him return until February.

Hold

Dominic Solanke (£7m) – Some may be considering selling Solanke with Tottenham ahead. But, Tottenham are conceding some poor defensive data recently and Bournemouth and Solanke are in fantastic scoring form.

Chelsea – Some may be frustrated with striker Nicolas Jackson (£6.9m) and midfielder Raheem Sterling (£7m) but a game against Luton, even at home, is too difficult to pass up. Both players could have big potential going into the match.

Liverpool – Newcastle may seem tough on paper but the Magpies have been extremely poor recently, especially defensively. Because of that defender Trent Alexander-Arnold (£8.4m) and striker Darwin Nunez (£7.5m) are firm holds. Midfielder Mohamed Salah (£13.3m) is leaving for AFCON after this week but even so it is far too early to sell him considering the Newcastle form.

Son Heung-Min (£9.9m) – Son is also departing for the Asia Cup after this round. But, Bournemouth lay ahead who although very efficient going forward still rank amongst the worst teams for goals conceded this season.

Mohammed Kudus (£6.8m) – The West Ham midfielder is leaving to join his national side in AFCON after this week. Before he does that he faces a Brighton side yet to keep a clean sheet this season. Because of that Kudus is an easy hold.

Hwang Hee Chan (£5.7m) – Hwang is another player heading off for the Asia Cup. The Wolves midfielder has a great opportunity against Everton first however. Hwang bagged a huge 14 points last match due to his two goals.
