FPL: Buy Sell and Keep for Gameweek 18

The 17th round of Fantasy Premier League is over so we look to the next and look at which players are a buy sell and keep for Gameweek 18. Whether that be through injury, team and player form or other factors we advise the potential fate of assets in your teams.

Looking at players who are a buy sell and keep for Gameweek 18 could be extremely beneficial to FPL managers. Knowing what to do with assets in your team can ultimately bring clarity with transfer use, captaincy and chip strategy.

Buy

  • Ollie Watkins (£8.7m) – Ollie Watkins could be considered as an absolute must this week. Not only does he face the worst defence in the league but he could also be the standout captaincy pick.
  • Leon Bailey (£5.6m) – Targeting the woeful Sheffield United defence could be hugely rewarding this week. Bailey seems to be the preferred winger and has banked three returns in his last four matches.
  • Ezri Konsa (£4.5m) – Sheffield United aren’t just poor defensively but also the worst side in the league offensively. Because of that Aston Villa have a great chance of keeping a clean sheet. The safest route into the backline is Ezri Konsa.
  • Dominic Solanke (£6.8m) – Bournemouth have a great opportunity ahead with a match against a struggling Nottingham Forest defence. One player who could take advantage of that is Solanke who takes penalties and has bagged three returns in his last four games.
  • Cole Palmer (£5.5m) – Chelsea come up against and inconsistent Wolves next up. Their standout attacker is Palmer who takes penalties but also produced a goal and an assist in his last game.
  • Kieran Trippier (£6.9m) – Trippier may have come under fire recently for his performances but it is worth remembering he is the most creative player in the league this season with seven assists. Newcastle have also kept the joint most clean sheets so far so have defensive potential against a poor Luton.
  • Son Heung-Min (£9.8m) – Son may have a tough game against Everton next but he has managed a massive six double-digit hauls this season making him one of the most explosive players in the game. He also takes penalties for his side which adds even more appeal.
  • Pedro Porro (£5.5m) – The Tottenham full-back is currently one of the best performing defenders in FPL so far. He is also one of the most promising defenders in the game for attacking potential as he tops several key metrics in the last six Gameweeks.

Sell

  • Bryan Mbeumo (£6.9m) – For those that plan on holding Mbeumo until he recovers from his injury, don’t. The midfielder is expected to be out until March and there are plenty of options in midfield we can move to.
  • Yoane Wissa (£5.8m) – Brentford have a blank Gameweek this week so do not have a fixture. Wissa has also been very disappointing recently and there are better options in the frontline to swap to.
  • Everton players – The Toffees have been in great form recently. However, they come up against Tottenham and Manchester City in the next two matches so could really struggle.
  • Raul Jimenez (£5.3m) – Some may have switched to him following a good run of Fulham performances. However, the red card he picked up in Gameweek 17 means he is suspended until December 31st.
  • Willian (£5.3m) – Continuing with the Fulham assets. Willian picked up a head injury during his midweek cup game so is a major doubt for the next match.
  • Darwin Nunez (£7.6m) – This could be a tough one in regards to buy sell and keep for Gameweek 18. Liverpool may be maintaining some of the best attacking data in the league but Nunez is really struggling to perform. A game against Arsenal next up isn’t the best opportunity to turn his form around either.
  • Manchester City – Manchester City have a blank Gameweek this week. Because of that moving away from their expensive assets could be a wise move. There are also question marks over the fitness of Erling Haaland (£13.9m) so he could be a sell for a week providing you have the funds to bring him back in once confirmed fit.
  • Anthony Gordon (£6.2m) – This is totally dependent on his injury status. If Gordon is confirmed fit after the injury he picked up in midweek then it may be worth keeping him, if not then he is a sell.

Hold

  • Arsenal – The Gooners face off against Liverpool next up which could be tough. However, Arsenal are top of the league and have shown they can perform well against tough opposition. It could be worth benching their defensive assets this week (not selling) however because they have great fixtures after this week.
  • Kaoru Mitoma (£6.5m) – As frustrating as he has been recently in terms of output Mitoma could have potential against a poor Crystal Palace defence up next. It could be his last chance though with great midfield options elsewhere.
  • Nicolas Jackson (£6.9m) – Chelsea play Wolves who have been poor recently. Although Christopher Nkunku has returned from injury it could be worth monitoring how that affects Jackson’ minutes rather than selling him. He has been returning recently (seven in his last 10) and has also been maintaining some brilliant non-penalty expected goal involvement data.
  • Liverpool assets – Other than Darwin Nunez it could be worth holding onto the Liverpool assets. They are clearly in the running for the title this season which will only benefit their players long term. Liverpool also have good fixtures after this week.
  • Jarrod Bowen (£7.8m) & Mohammed Kudus (£6.7m) – West Ham may face Manchester United next up but the Reds have proven defensively inconsistent all season. The Hammers are also very efficient offensively.
