FPL: Buy Sell and Keep for Gameweek 17

Last modified date

The round of Fantasy Premier League is over so we look to the next and look at which players are a buy sell and keep for Gameweek 17. Whether that be through injury, team and player form or other factors we advise the potential fate of assets in your teams.

Looking at players who are a buy sell and keep for Gameweek 17 could be extremely beneficial to FPL managers. Knowing what to do with assets in your team can ultimately bring clarity with transfer use, captaincy and chip strategy.

Buy

Buy Sell and Keep for Gameweek 17
  • Arsenal – The Gooners still have fine fixtures ahead so it isn’t too late to invest. Many should be looking to own one or even two defensive assets, some of them include goalkeeper David Raya (£5.5m), and defenders like William Saliba (£6.2m) and Gabriel (£6.2m). The only convincing option in attack remains to be midfielder Bukayo Saka (£10.6m).
  • Chelsea – With six lovely fixtures ahead, the Blues have an exceptional schedule, so flock to Chelsea for FPL assets. Goalkeeper Robert Sanchez (£4.8m) and defender Levi Colwill (£4.6m) are viable options in defence, whilst midfielder Cole Palmer (£11.1m) and striker Nicolas Jackson (£8.2m) should be prioritised by investors. Midfielder Enzo Fernandez (£5.1m) could also be a great cheap pick.
  • Fulham – After facing awkward opposition recently, Fulham are coming into a great fixture shift. Full-back Antonee Robinson (£4.8m) could draw most interest due to his six assists this season. Midfielder Alex Iwobi’ (£5.7m) recent form also makes him a key target in attack along with striker Raul Jimenez (£5.5m).
  • Amad Diallo (£5.2m) – Manchester United’ new manager and incoming fixtures makes them appealing. Whilst Bruno Fernandes (£8.4m) may be tempting, fellow midfielder Amad Diallo is over £3m cheaper and has more returns in his last four matches.
  • Alexander Isak (£8.7m) – As well as facing Ipswich, Newcastle clash with some poor defences in the weeks ahead. Because of that and his relentless form recently, penalty taker Alexander Isak could be a priority transfer in.
  • Chris Wood (£6.6m) – Nottingham Forest have impressed this season, and they also play ropey defences ahead. Penalty taker Wood has been excellent so far – scoring 10 goals already.

Sell

  • Brentford – The Bees are coming into a torrid run of fixtures, which makes assets like goalkeeper Mark Flekken (£4.5m), and striker Yoane Wissa (£6.2m) easy sells. The same goes for midfielder Bryan Mbeumo (£7.6m) who could be shifted on, with the funds be used elsewhere.
  • Everton – The Toffees may be sustaining great defensive stats recently, but they face several of the best attacks in the league next up. Their failure to score on multiple occasions in the last several Gameweeks also makes their attackers a priority sell.
  • Erling Haaland (£14.9m) – Regardless of upcoming fixtures, the Norwegian has been awful recently, or at least to his usual standards. Taking into account Manchester City’ declining form, and better options elsewhere, Haaland shouldn’t be tying up the budget he has been for so long.
  • Tottenham – They may have impressed against Southampton recently, but they face opposite end of the table Liverpool next, which is a different challenge entirely. The likes of striker Dominic Solanke (£7.5m) and defender Pedro Porro (£5.6m) have been well below par during the fixtures they have been needed by FPL managers.
  • Raya Ait Nouri (£4.8m) – Wolves have one more good fixture against Ipswich before their schedule toughens. However, their flying full-back picked up a red card and a suspension ahead of Gameweek 17, meaning the time to sell him has arrived.

Keep

  • Bournemouth – Although slightly disappointing recently, Bournemouth assets like midfielder Antoine Semenyo (£5.7m) and striker Evanilson (£6.1m) have fantastic fixtures in the several rounds ahead from an attacking perspective.
  • Rico Lewis (£4.6m) – Manchester City have been in torrid form recently, but at his price, Rico Lewis should be an easy hold. As well as having great fixtures coming up, it may not be long before we see Manchester City back to their best, and owning one of their defenders could be rewarding.
  • Wolves – Whilst Rayan Ait Nouri is a sell, as mentioned above, strikers Strand Larsen (£5.7m) and Matheus Cunha (£7.1m) could be worth holding onto. Monitoring news around the latter could be key due to his actions in the previous match. Either way, Ipswich have been one of the worst defences in the league this season, so the Wolves attackers could have huge potential.
  • Morgan Rogers (£5.4m) – Games against Manchester City and Newcastle may look tough on paper, but both sides have been poor defensively. The Aston Villa midfielder has also proven to be one of their most reliable assets for gametime this season.
