FPL: Buy Sell and Keep for Gameweek 16

Last modified date

The round of Fantasy Premier League is over so we look to the next and look at which players are a buy sell and keep for Gameweek 16. Whether that be through injury, team and player form or other factors we advise the potential fate of assets in your teams.

Looking at players who are a buy sell and keep for Gameweek 16 could be extremely beneficial to FPL managers. Knowing what to do with assets in your team can ultimately bring clarity with transfer use, captaincy and chip strategy.

Buy

  • Arsenal – The Gooners have increasingly easing fixtures, and appear to have found an unbeaten stride of form. The cheapest defensive option is David Raya (£5.5m) between the sticks. However, William Saliba (£6.2m) is one of very few options fit for the new round. The Frenchman scored in his last two league matches. In attack, Bukayo Saka (£10.5m) could be considered an essential, whilst fellow midfielder Martin Odegaard (£8.3m) could be a great differential. Striker Kai Havertz (£7.9m) may also be a consideration.
  • Brighton – With great fixtures ahead, Brighton could also be a great team to invest in. Although ropey at the back, goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen (£4.5m) and defender Lewis Dunk (£4.4m) could be cheap options. Penalty taker Joao Pedro (£5.9m) remains a great option, whilst fellow striker Danny Welbeck (£5.8m) has also been a great option. The standout in midfield is Kaoru Mitoma (£6.6m), who scored in two of his last four games.
  • Chelsea – The Blues remain at the top of most fixture tickers due to great long-term fixtures. Although lacking in defence, both goalkeeper Robert Sanchez (£4.8m) and Levi Colwill (£4.5m) could be cheap routes in. Midfielder Cole Palmer (£11.1m) and striker Nicolas Jackson (£8.2m) are still brilliant options. But, with returns in his last five matches midfielder Enzo Fernandez (£5m) should also be a consideration.
  • Liverpool – Liverpool remain in excellent form, and have that going into a great schedule ahead. Those looking for a goalkeeper could opt for Alisson (£5.4m), but Trent Alexander-Arnold (£7m) stands out in defence. A cheaper defensive option is Virgil Van Dijk (£6.4m), who offers attacking threat from set pieces. Rotation could be an issue in attack, but Mohamed Salah (£13.3m) is still the most reliable and effective player in the Liverpool frontline.
  • Alexander Isak (£8.6m) – Newcastle have brilliant fixtures ahead, even after their games against Leicester and Ipswich. Penalty taker Isak goes into the period off the back of scoring four goals and creating two assists in his last six matches.

Sell

  • Aston Villa – Increasingly difficult fixtures, rotation from the manager and better options elsewhere could suggest that selling Aston Villa assets could be a good move. Those assets include the likes of forward Ollie Watkins (£9m) and defender Lucas Digne (£4.7m).
  • Brentford – With fixtures against Chelsea, Nottingham Forest, Brighton, Arsenal and Manchester City, it could be better to switch elsewhere. This goes for the likes of midfielder Bryan Mbeumo (£7.6m), striker Yoane Wissa (£6.2m) and goalkeeper Mark Flekken (£4.5m). All three assets have shown a slight dip in form in their last four games.
  • Manchester City – Inconsistency isn’t an ideal trait when spending a considerable amount of money on the likes of striker Erling Haaland (£14.9m). Constantly dropping in price, the Norwegian is performing well below par and worse than many much cheaper options. Manchester City’ poor defence could also mean the end for the likes of Rico Lewis (£4.7m) in our sides.
  • Everton – If it wasn’t obvious already, Everton continue to hit and miss in terms of performances. They also meet with Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City in the next three matches, so selling up could be the best move.

Keep

  • Fulham – Liverpool away is a tough match on paper, one of the toughest a team can play. However, the Cottagers then play Southampton, Bournemouth, Ipswich and West Ham, which could be good opportunities for their assets to return.
  • Chris Wood (£6.5m) – Although tough according to the fixture difficulty rating system, Aston Villa, Brentford and Tottenham have all been poor defensively recently. They could be great openings for one of the best performing strikers in the league.
  • Tottenham – Tottenham have been poor recently, but they come up against the worst side in the league next up in Southampton. After Liverpool, they also come up against Nottingham Forest and Wolves, games in which the likes of striker Dominic Solanke (£7.5m) and midfielder Son Heung-Min (£9.8m) could pick up points in.
  • Wolves – Wolves have been extremely frustrating in their last three matches. But, they clash with two of the three promoted sides next before coming into a much tougher run. So, being patient with the likes of defender Rayan Ait Nouri (£4.9m) and striker Matheus Cunha (£7.1m) could end up being hugely rewarding.
