Its been a long season in many aspects and it’s a great time to look back and reflect on some of the highlights. Reminding ourselves of the best goalkeepers in 23/24 could be super helpful when looking ahead to the new season.
The Top 5
1. Jordan Pickford – 153 points
Leading every other goalkeeper in the game this season was Jordan Pickford. The Everton man helped his side keep the second most clean sheets in the league during his 23/24 campaign. His 153 points came mostly from 13 clean sheets and an average of one save point per game.
Pickford’ biggest return was 10 points of which he managed four times. Those returns came against Brentford, Liverpool, Fulham and Chelsea.
2. David Raya – 135 points
Sitting in second place with 135 points is David Raya, also a massive 18 points behind Jordan Pickford. The Spaniard managed to collect the Golden Glove award for producing more clean sheets than any player in 23/24.
The Arsenal man matched Jordan Pickford’ biggest return of 10 points, but on just one occasion against Wolves in Gameweek 33. There he picked up a clean sheet, a save point and three bonus.
3. Bernd Leno and Andre Onana – 133 points
Sharing third place in 23/24 was Fulham’ Bernd Leno and Manchester United’ Andre Onana. Leno has had a good campaign, keeping 10 clean sheets. The 32-year-olds biggest round came in the first Gameweek against Everton where he racked up 12 points for his clean sheet, nine saves and three bonus.
Onana had a busy season in 23/24 too as his side conceded more shots on goal than most other sides in the league. However, Onana’ nine clean sheets and average of 3.9 saves per game secured his position amongst the top five goalkeepers this season.
5. Mark Flekken – 119 points
Brentford seemed to have sufficiently replaced David Raya in goal during the 23/24 campaign. Mark Flekken hit 119 points after banking seven clean sheets. Bizarrely, Flekken also managed to register an assist which help add to his impressive tally.
Flekken hit three double-digit returns during that season, his 11-point return was the biggest and happened against Brighton in Gameweek 31. There Flekken kept a clean sheet, hit three bonus and produced six saves.
The following players made up the remainder of the top 10:
6. Alphonse Areola – 116 points
