FPL: Best Budget Players for Gameweek 25

We pick out the best budget players for Gameweek 25. With the help of the Fantasy Football Scout fixture ticker and underlying stats we provide some of the best cheap players, whether that be goalkeepers, defenders, midfielders or forwards for the round ahead.

Finding some of the best budget players for Gameweek 25 can be extremely useful to managers. Cheap players are vital when it comes to trying to fit in the more expensive options and can even be great standalone assets.

Fixtures

Below we can see the ticker in order of fixture difficulty. The teams at the top have the easiest fixtures and the teams at the bottom have the toughest fixtures.

Conor Bradley

Liverpool have two matches this week with fixtures against both Brentford and Luton. Defensively the Reds rank in the top two teams in the league this season for both clean sheets kept and goals conceded. They have one of the best defences in the league so investing in their backline ahead of a double Gameweek could be hugely rewarding.

One player who could be worth the risk is Conor Bradley (£4.1m). Trent’ recent injury has meant that Bradley has stepped up and with uncertainty around the formers fitness, we could see that continue. Bradley started in Gameweek 21 and 22 which is where he bagged a massive 29 points. His points came from one goal, two assists and three clean sheets. This shows how explosive he can be when playing.

Luton

Luton play Manchester United and Liverpool next up. Whilst tough on paper the Double Gameweek and the fact their assets have two chances of returning make them appealing when it comes to investment.

Defensively the Hatters have improved recently but that is yet to translate into a convincing run of clean sheets. Regardless of their clean sheet potential, Alfie Doughty (£4.6m) still has bags of potential. When it comes to his offensive data Doughty ranks above every other defender for total crosses, second best for successful crosses and third best for chances created. He has also registered a huge seven assists this season.

In attack Luton have been very impressively recently – ranking joint fourth best for goals in the last six Gameweeks. One of their most in-form attackers is striker Elijah Adebayo (£4.9m). Adebayo is one of the main reasons Luton rank where they do offensively. In his last five matches Adebayo has produced five goals and one assist.

Fellow striker and teammate Carlton Morris (£5m) should also be considered. Morris is also on a great run of form – banking six returns in his last six games. Morris also take his sides penalties which gives him even more appeal.

Managers looking for a midfielder could opt for former Chelsea man Ross Barkley (£5m). Barkley has become one of the Hatters most influential players this season. More recently Barkley has also secured four returns in his last six games.

Brighton

Brighton do not have a double Gameweek this week but they do have a fixture against Sheffield United. The Blades sit rock bottom of the Premier League with just three wins, 60 goals conceded and 22 goals scored.

Sheffield United are a team to target and there is no doubt that. Brighton have potential to both keep a clean sheet and score goals this week and they have several cheap assets we can back.

The standout defensive option looks to be Jan Paul Van Hecke (£4m) who ranks as one of the best players amongst his teammates for minutes played this season. Another player who could be interesting is the even cheaper Tariq Lamptey (£3.9m) who has started his sides last two matches.

In attack, Joao Pedro’ recent injury could mean that striker Danny Welbeck (£5.7m) gets plenty of gametime. Welbeck picked up a return in his last match against a tough Tottenham side.
