FPL: Best Budget Players for Gameweek 15

We pick out the best budget players for Gameweek 15. With the help of the Fantasy Football Scout fixture ticker and underlying stats we provide some of the best cheap players, whether that be goalkeepers, defenders, midfielders or forwards for the round ahead.

Finding some of the best budget players for Gameweek 15 can be extremely useful to managers. Cheap players are vital when it comes to trying to fit in the more expensive options and can even be great standalone assets.

Fixtures

Below we can see the ticker in order of fixture difficulty. The teams at the top have the easiest fixtures and the teams at the bottom have the toughest fixtures.

Newcastle

Newcastle have been really impressive recently – picking up results even whilst hampered by injuries. The Magpies also sit joint first with Arsenal for clean sheets (six) which reflects just how good the Newcastle backline has been this season.

Everton are up next for Newcastle which could be a great chance for their defensive assets to keep a clean sheet and pick up points.

The long-term injury to number one between the sticks Nick Pope means that Mark Dubravka (£4m) will fill in. Another player benefitting from an injury is Jamaal Lascelles (£4.2m) who also has potential this week. It’s also worth highlighting that the centre-back scored in one of his most recent matches and has managed to return in five of the eight matches he has played this season.

Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest and Steve Cooper seem to be under significant pressure going into the period ahead. Results haven’t been good but one thing they have show is that they can score goals. In fact, in their last four matches Nottingham Forest have netted two goals in three of their games.

They come up against Fulham next which could mean big potential for their attackers. In the last six Gameweeks Fulham rank third worst for total goals conceded, the worst for shots on target conceded, and in the five worst teams for shots in the box and big chances conceded.

With all of the above in mind the standout is midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White (£5.7m). Gibbs-White is the key creator in the side – ranking the best amongst offensive teammates for expected assists. He also takes penalties which is a bonus and has managed three returns in his last three games.

Another great way into the Nottingham Forest attack is former Manchester United man Anthony Elanga (£5m). Elanga comes in significantly cheaper than his fellow midfielder and has collected an impressive four returns in his last six matches.

More great budget picks

As always there are plenty of nicely priced players going into the round ahead, here are some more:

  • Kostas Tsimikas (£4.8m) – The Liverpool full-back has a fantastic fixture in the next round. He faces the worst team in the league, Sheffield United. Tsimikas has huge clean sheet potential this week but he also has threat and showed that when he produced three assists in his last three matches.
  • Crystal Palace attackers – The Eagles have a meeting with Bournemouth this week who sit as the third worst team in the division for goals conceded, shots on target conceded and shots in the box conceded. Because of that cheap attackers like midfielder Michael OIise (£5.8m) who was their most creative player last season and scored recently. Another good option is striker Odsonne Eduard (£5.5m) who leads the attack.
