Fantasy Football Tips: FPLBeginners Guide

Fantasy Premier League Beginners Guide

Fantasy Premier League Beginners Guide

How to win at FPL is covered in this essential Fantasy Premier League beginners guide. This takes you through all the essential Fantasy Premier League Tips.

The guide covers:

  • How to spend your initial budget
  • The types of players you need
  • Differentials
  • Transfers
  • Wildcards
  • Chips
  • Tools and resources.

There are a number of things that all FPL managers should consider.

Budget

Managers should think very carefully about how much of their initial budget is spent across each of the positions. If managers spend too much in the goalkeeper spots, they may struggle to have enough budget for the rest of the squad. Managers should also think carefully about the budget enablers, these are players who can be benched, but come on if needed.

Differentials

These are players who are owned by under 10% of the game. Owning differentials can be a good way to improve your rank. This is because you will be one of only a few managers to own them. Therefore every point they score is a boost over the majority of managers in the game.

Transfers

Every week FPL managers are given one free transfer. This can be used to swap one player in your team for another. Any further transfers made that week will cost FPL managers -4 points off of their overall total. Managers can roll a transfer for one week meaning that for the following gameweek they will have two transfers.

Chips

There are three FPL Chips in the game. The Free Hit, Bench Boost and Triple Captain chips.

The Free Hit means that managers can change every player in their team for one week only. At the end of that gameweek the team will revert to their original line up. This is useful in blank and double gameweeks.

The Bench Boost chip adds the scores from the benched players to their round total for one gameweek per season. Managers tend to use this when they have a benching headache or in a double gameweek.

The Triple Captain chip triples the score for the player that is wearing the captains armband. This applies in one gameweek of the managers choosing per season.
