First Draft

The Fanteam format is almost the same as Fantasy Premier League, so you can enter your normal FPL team into this competition and run it alongside your main fantasy football team. With the FPL game yet to launch, we couldn’t resist a sneak preview of the Fanteam game and a first draft. Over 90% of predicted FPL prices were correct ahead of last season. Fanteam First Draft It’s a standard budget goalkeeper set and forget, with Jordan Pickford being the standout option for a 4.5M goalkeeper, with Virgina as his reserve. The big money in defence was spent on Trent Alexander-Arnold (7.5M), with cheaper defenders elsewhere. Vinagre (4.0M) should start the season, with Jonny out long-term with an ACL injury. Charlie Taylor (4.5M) should be fit Gameweek 1, and Chris Basham (4.5M) and Jamal Lascelles (4.5M) are reliable bench fillers from usually reliable defences. The big money is spent in midfield, with 3-5-2 seemingly the popular option in the fantasy community right now. Three big hitters who are worthy of the armband make the cut: Raheem Sterling (11M), Mo Salah (12.5M) & Bruno Fernandes (11.0M) are the golden trio and the likely spot kick takers for their respective clubs. Wilf Zaha (6.5M) and Dwight McNeil (6.0M) make up the numbers: both look set for a big money move within the Premier League. That means a more budget frontline, with Danny Ings (8.5M) given the nod after his reliability in the previous campaign. Michail Antonio (6.5M) finished the last season in fine form and could keep his place up front for West Ham. Aaron Connolly (4.5M) is the budget enabler chosen to warm the bench, with every penny of the 100M entry used up on this entry. Obviously plenty can change between now and 12th September, with fixture news a huge factor in the decision making.
