Fantasy5 Picks GW28: Could Dele Alli score past Spurs?

Pick five Premier League players to beat their Fantasy5 ‘points target’ and you could win a prize of up to £10,000.

We love alternative challenges at Fantasy Football Community, so we really enjoy the Fantasy5 game. It’s a free-to-play challenge, where each week you select a player from five matches who you back to beat their designated ‘points target’. It follows the exact same scoring system as FPL but without bonus points.

Get all five correct and you get a split of the £10,000 jackpot prize. Full terms and conditions are here.

In the meantime, we attempt to suggest five successful picks.

Gameweek 28 Fantasy5 picks

  • Newcastle v Brighton
  • Liverpool v West Ham
  • Watford v Arsenal
  • Man City v Man United
  • Tottenham v Everton

Deadline is 15:00 (GMT) on Saturday 5 March.

Gameweek 27 brought 11 players who exceeded their points target – much higher than most weeks. Yet none of our five picks were successful, despite the best attempts of Newcastle’s Ryan Fraser. He assisted Joelinton’s opener but fell half a point short of 6.5. Elsewhere, Cristiano Ronaldo blanked against Watford, Tariq Lamptey conceded twice and Anthony Gordon couldn’t find a way through Man City’s defence. Looking back, that was a dumb pick! Raul Jimenez didn’t even start for Wolves, so scored one point.

Let’s see if Fraser can beat 6.5 this time around. He has been a bright spot for Newcastle during their two-month unbeaten spell and faces Brighton on Saturday. At Anfield, Liverpool host West Ham knowing the Premier League title is in their control, even if they’re currently behind Man City. Left-back Andrew Robertson has a 7.5 points target, requiring another of his many attacking returns.

An Arsenal asset has to be backed for their trip to Watford. Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli both have an 8.5 target, just like uncertain starter Emile Smith Rowe. Therefore, forward Alexandre Lacazette gets the nod.

Whilst backing a Man City opponent failed last week, Jadon Sancho has an unusually low target of 5.5. He was benched against the Hornets but will relish the chance to score against his former club in the Manchester derby. Speaking of which, wouldn’t it be a brilliant narrative if Dele Alli suddenly turned up and reminded Tottenham what they used to have? Recently sold to Everton, his playing time has remained low. But the unpredictability of Spurs sets Alli up perfectly to haunt his old team mates.
