Fantasy WSL 2025/26 Gameweek 8 Team Reveal
@Schurrle_FWSL Fantasy WSL 2025/26 Gameweek 8 Team Reveal is here, and with seven exciting rounds behind us, managers are starting to spot the trends that can define their season.
In this article, Joe will be sharing his latest team reveal for Gameweek 8, looking at the key players he’s backing, where he sees the biggest opportunities, and the transfers that he could make the difference this week.
Team Reveal
Gameweek 7 was a difficult one. Three separate 59th-minute substitutions cost me nine points, resulting in a total score of 31 points, ten below the Gameweek average. After a significant red arrow, the focus now turns to a positive response in Gameweek 8. Here is how my team is shaping up ahead of the new round:

Goalkeepers
I had hoped Szemik would be busy enough to return save points last week. Instead, the only shot on target she faced found the back of the net. That makes it three consecutive blanks, though her Visionary status means she remains a hold for the time being.
Defenders
Despite a difficult home fixture against Chelsea, Katie McCabe keeps her place. There is always the possibility of attacking output, even in tougher fixtures.
The Manchester double-up continues too, with Sandberg and Casparij both retaining their spots. Both have strong fixtures this week, ahead of the Manchester derby in Gameweek 9.
Deslandes currently starts, but she will move to the bench once transfers are confirmed. Meanwhile, Sangaré is expected to leave the squad this week.
Midfielders
Caldentey continues to find routes to points, securing three bonus points last weekend despite no attacking returns.
Ella Toone remains an automatic selection after returning for the fourth consecutive week.
Freya Godfrey also comes in for her first appearance in my squad, now she has returned to the starting lineup for London City.
Kendall moves to the bench. While she was initially a planned transfer out, Aston Villa’s newly-announced Double Gameweek in GW11 has changed that strategy. She stays for now.
Vignola joins her on the bench and may be moved on in one of the coming Gameweeks.
Attackers
Although Bunny Shaw has blanked in two consecutive matches, she retains the captaincy. She faces an Everton side who have conceded seven goals across their last two fixtures, which presents a strong opportunity.
Aggie Beever-Jones will make way this week after three blanks. Her replacement will be one of:
- Viviane Asseyi (9.0m)
- Kiko Seike (8.0m)
- Noémie Mouchon (4.5m)
All three provide Visionary upside.
Cathinka Tandberg was benched in Gameweek 7 despite her strong start. I’m hopeful she regains her starting place, though a Gameweek 9 meeting with Arsenal means her place in the squad may soon be under review.
Transfers
A Double Gameweek has now been confirmed for Gameweek 11:
- Aston Villa: Liverpool (H) & Manchester City (A)
- Liverpool: West Ham (A) & Aston Villa (A)
This effectively makes GW11 a dead-end opportunity before the winter break. The medium-term plan is to move towards three Aston Villa players and two Liverpool players ahead of that week.
For Gameweek 8:
- Beever-Jones → one of Asseyi, Seike, or Mouchon
- Sangaré → Olislagers (5.7m) or Hayes (4.1m) from Brighton
These moves strengthen the squad for this week while beginning to position for the GW11 double.
