Fantasy WSL 2025/26 Gameweek 3 Team Reveal

The Women’s Super League continues, and with it comes the excitement of Fantasy WSL. In this article, @Schurrle_FWSL shares his Fantasy WSL 2025/26 Gameweek 3 Team Reveal, breaking down his squad, captaincy decision, and the key players he thinks can start the season strongly.
A rough GW2 saw my rank drop from the low 3 digits to 1422nd overall, with my 42 points lying below the average of 45. Missing out on a Maya Le Tissier haul and an Alessia Russo injury time brace was a hard pill to swallow.
But, my rank is still superior to what it was this time last season, where I went on to finish 5th in the world, so I’m still very much looking forward to the season ahead!
Here’s how my team is shaping up for GW3:

Goalkeepers
I held off on making a goalkeeper transfer last week, which left me with Kinga Szemik and Rafaela Borggräfe – neither of whom featured in GW2. Borggräfe returned to Liverpool’s squad on Sunday but was benched for Faye Kirby (4.0m), who Matt Beard confirmed in his pre-match press conference is his number one “for now.”
There was a glimmer of hope with Szemik, who at least took part in the pre-match warm-ups on Friday. That gives me reason to believe she could return in GW3, so I’ll be waiting on injury updates before deciding if a transfer is absolutely necessary.
Defenders
It’s been a frustrating start for my premium defender Katie McCabe, who is yet to deliver a return and has only managed 0.2xGI so far. Arsenal have been unlucky defensively – they’ve conceded only through a penalty and a goalkeeping error despite allowing the lowest xG in the league. United (A) is a tough fixture, but with bigger issues elsewhere, I’m happy to hold McCabe this week and trust her underlying numbers.
I’m lining up with a trio of full-backs alongside McCabe: Pacheco and Olislagers. Pacheco has been lively on Everton’s left flank, supplying two assists on the opening weekend, while Olislagers has a promising home game against a West Ham attack that hasn’t clicked yet. Both have a decent run until GW6, so I’m comfortable holding.
Jade Rose’s surprise benching in GW2 sees her move to my bench as well, joined by Anna Sandberg, who may lose her spot now that Gabby George is back. I’ll be watching United’s Champions League qualifier closely to see how Rose’s minutes look going forward.
Midfielders
Despite only one attacking return so far, Caldentey has collected five of a possible six bonus points across the opening two GWs and continues to look like a strong option. She was subbed off in GW2 before Arsenal’s last-minute penalty, but she should remain the club’s first-choice taker moving forward.
Hemp was a frustrating own in GW2, blanking despite producing 1.0xGI. Her underlying numbers remain excellent, and I’m confident the returns will come soon. She also has an impressive track record against her next opponent Tottenham, with four goals and six assists across eight starts.
Vignola continues as my budget enabler, though she blanked against Spurs after being the most-transferred-in player post-GW1 (over 4,000 transfers). She starts this week alongside Hannah Cain, who has been reclassified as a visionary. Cain’s GW3 fixture is tough, so I may look for a way to bench her. Godfrey remains side-lined with injury but should return soon, which will give me extra depth.
Attackers
Beth England gets the start against City this week. It’s a difficult fixture, but if Spurs score, she’s almost certain to be involved – just like she was in this same fixture last season.
Bunny Shaw keeps the armband for a second consecutive week. Her 0.7xG in GW2, combined with an incredible record of 12 goals in just six starts against Spurs, makes her very hard to overlook. Tottenham are the only team yet to concede this season, so the clash with Shaw should be a fascinating watch on Friday night.
I also moved early on Wednesday to bring in Aggie Beever-Jones (10.0m) ahead of price changes, dodging a 0.1m loss on Elisabeth Terland. The Chelsea forward has scored in both of her opening fixtures and ranks second in the league for xG. With Chelsea hosting Leicester, she looks like a fantastic option, though I’ll be hoping she avoids the dreaded Bompastor rotation.
Transfer Plans
I’m rolling my second transfer until Friday, with a few scenarios in mind.
- Goalkeepers: If there’s no positive news on Szemik, I may be forced into a move – potentially to Kirby (4.0m), even with Liverpool’s defensive struggles.
- Defenders: I’m considering Deslandes (6.0m), Maritz (5.5m), or Auée (4.0m) as possible upgrades.
- Forwards: There’s also the option to free up funds by moving Beth England down to Tandberg (5.5m), who impressed on her full Spurs debut. This would give me flexibility for bigger moves next week, such as Maya Le Tissier, Alessia Russo, or a Chelsea defender.
