Fantasy WSL 2025/26 First Draft – Team Reveal

The new season is almost here, and excitement is building for womenās fantasy football. Fantasy WSL 2025/26 First Draft ā Team Reveal gives an early look at how expert @Schurrle_FWSL is setting up their squad.
In this article, weāll go through the initial draft, highlight the key picks, and share the reasoning behind each selection.
First Draft
Here goes my first draft my 25/26 Aerial Fantasy team. With 17 days to go before the deadline, thereās a lot certainty still to be gained over how every team will line-up. This is especially with a quarter of the league appointing new managers ahead of the season.
In goal, Iāve currently gone for BorggrƤfe and Orman, both 4.0m. Liverpool and London City Lionessesā fixtures rotate really nicely this season. Itās only a question of who starts in goal for both teams. Without clarity on this, I may end up going for Lize Kop from Tottenham.
Iāve gone for one 8.0m defender in Katie McCabe, who finished 15th for xGI in the league last season. Arsenalās defensive numbers were very good last season, and I expect that to continue.
Gabby George (6.5m) presents one of the cheaper routes into Man Unitedās defence, who have a great couple of opening fixtures. Itās likely Iāll move her on to Naomi Girma (6.5m) once the fixtures get trickier.
Hanshaw (5.0m) was a reliable fantasy option towards the end of last season, providing three assists from left-back. So, Iām hoping that form can continue.
My two 4.0m enablers are Marit AuĆ©e and Jade Rose. AuĆ©e ended the 24/25 season playing RB, RWB and even RW for Brighton, so Iām hoping she can solidify her starting place. New signing Jade Rose could slot in at RCB for Man City, with Rebecca Knaak currently dealing with a meniscus injury.

Iāve tripled up on Euros finalists in midfield, with Hemp (9.0m), James (8.5m) and Caldentey (10.0m). All three have all been moved from forwards to midfielders this season. The two Laurens look like potential bargains this season.
Despite missing a large chunk of the season through injury, Hemp led the league for assists and was the only player to have averaged over 1xGI/90. James, who was also side-lined for a lot of last season, averaged 0.69xGI/90.
Itās just a question of how many players I want for that Chelsea vs City opening fixture. Caldentey is a potential captaincy option for me. A favourable opening day fixture against the newly promoted London City Lionesses and her penalty taking duty makes her a really exciting option.
Hannah Cain (6.5m) is my favourite of the mid-priced midfielders. The right-winger is a crucial part of Leicesterās attack. She also ended last season with three goals in the final two games, with really promising underlying numbers.
After her 6-figure move to London City, Freya Godfrey is my 4.0m enabler in midfield. A low-risk option with a high ceiling Alessia Russo (12.5m) leads my front line and currently wears the armband. The golden boot winner has four goals in her last three games against newly promoted sides. Thereās a strong chance Iāll be swapping her and Bunny Shaw around all season.
Despite only arriving in January, Shekiera Martinez (8.0m) scored 10 goals in 12 appearances, challenging for both the golden boot and player of the season in the progress. For just 8.0m, a player that promising is an exciting option.
Rounding off my team is Kelly Gago (6.0m), another January arrival who took the league by storm, with six goal involvements in 10 appearances. Everton have a favourable schedule to start the season, and if they do well, the French international will be a big part of that!
