Fantasy Premier League: Best Differentials for Gameweek 21

The Premier League season continues which means the fantasy season does too. With that in mind, we provide the best differentials for Gameweek 21 with the help of the Fantasy Football Scout fixture ticker and underlying stats.

Looking at the best differentials for Gameweek 21 can be really useful for fantasy managers. Differentials are lowly owned players that can help towards gaining rank and an edge over your competition.

Pascal Groß – 4.2% Ownership

Brighton remain one of the best attacking teams in the league. Statistically the Seagulls sit in the top six teams for underlying attacking metrics like total attempts on goal, shots in the box, big chances total, and shots on target.

Wolves lay ahead for Brighton and although impressing this season Wolves still appear to be a team to target. In fact, not only do they rank in the worst eight teams this season for expected goals conceded but they have also picked up just one clean sheet in their last five matches.

There is plenty of opportunity for a Brighton attacker this week and one in particular stands out. Pascal Groß (£6.4m) leads all of his teammates in terms of gametime so he is seemingly safe for minutes. Not just this but the German also sits as the highest scoring player in FPL for his side. When compared to every other player in the league Pascal Groß also sits fourth in the last six Gameweeks for non-penalty expected goal involvement.

Elijah Adebayo – 1.1% Ownership

Luton are evidently not going down without a fight this season. The Hatters have put on some impressive performances as of late against heavy weights like Chelsea, Newcastle, Manchester City, Arsenal and Liverpool. This is telling with their recent attacking data as they rank joint fourth best in the last six Gameweeks for total goals scored.

The above may seem surprising to many but Luton are a team on the rise. This week could be the perfect time to invest as they face fellow promoted side Burnley. Burnley have been extremely poor defensively this season. More recently they also sit in the worst four teams for statistics like shots in the box conceded, total attempts conceded, shots on target conceded and big chances conceded.

Leading the resurging Luton attack is Elijah Adebayo who comes in at just £4.8m. Adebayo has been exceptional lately bagging four goals in his last six matches. Adebayo isn’t just a great differential this week but he could also be a great third striker pick long-term.

Diogo Jota – 2.8% Ownership

Liverpool will be hoping to further cement their position at the top of the league in Gameweek 21. The Reds have been offensively relentless this season and we can see that in their data. In fact overall Liverpool rank the best for expected goals, top for total attempts on goal, first for shots in the box and the best for shots on target.

Bournemouth have been very good recently but it is worth remembering that they still sit fourth worst in the league for goals conceded. The Cherries also lost their most recent match 3-1 to Tottenham which suggests they could crumble again against an efficient frontline.

The absence of Mohamad Salah to AFCON is no doubt a loss to the Liverpool attack. However, they also have an abundance of frontline quality to step up in the meantime. One of those players is Diogo Jota (£7.8m). Jota seems to be finding his rhythm recently after two back-to-back returns in Gameweek 19 and 20.

Ivan Toney – 0.5%

Brentford aren’t exactly convincing but it will be a mammoth boost to their confidence with the return of their star man. The Bees have been struggling for goals recently since the injury to Bryan Mbeumo but that could be about to change.

Nottingham Forest are up next for Brentford. Although they recently departed with Steve Cooper and picked up wins in both of their last matches, Nottingham Forest are still poor defensively and in fact have not kept a single clean sheet in any of their last nine matches.

Ivan Toney (£7.9m) has been out of action for sometime due to a ban. However, Toney was excellent last season. The frontman managed a huge 20 goals and four assists making him one of the best attackers in the league. Toney will have plenty of motivation coming into his first match in months and with the addition of penalty duty he could be one of the best differentials for Gameweek 21.
