Fantasy Liga Portugal Betclic Gameweek 5 Team Reveal

@joaopcc2ilva’s Fantasy Liga Portugal Betclic Gameweek 5 Team Reveal is here. In this article he’ll be walking you through his latest draft, transfers, and also captaincy decisions ahead of the weekend.

With key fixtures shaping the early weeks of the season, it’s the perfect time to analyse standout picks, player form, and where the best value can be found. Let’s dive into the team reveal for Gameweek 5.

Team Reveal

Fantasy returns with Matchday 5 after the international break. Unfortunately, the break brought a few injuries worth noting: Dédic (SLB) will be out for 2–3 weeks, Luuk de Jong (FCP) faces around 4–6 weeks on the sidelines, and William Gomes (FCP) is also out for 2–3 weeks.

With that in mind, let’s focus on the squad and the same logic I’ve followed in previous matchdays: rotating goalkeepers to ensure a home fixture each week.

Goalkeepers

  • João Valido (€4.0M) – in great form, making key saves, and capable of posting another strong score.
  • Sequeira (€4.5M) – already tested against both Sporting and Porto in the opening four matchdays, and continues to show his quality.

Defenders

The backline is set up with five defenders:

  • de Haas (€5.0M) – a mainstay since Matchday 1, recently voted Defender of the Month. Despite facing a side likely to score, his long-term value is unquestionable.
  • Paulo Oliveira (€5.5M) – Braga’s first-choice centre-back, offering both stability and clean sheet potential.
  • Leonardo Lelo (€5.5M) – tied for the most assists among defenders (alongside Alberto, who is injured). His attacking contributions remain a major asset.
  • Dahl (€6.0M) – brought in with an eye on the upcoming Double Gameweek.
  • Abascal (€5.0M) – a complete and reliable starter who can provide solid defensive numbers.

Midfielders

  • Francisco Trincão (€11.5M) – currently the best player in Portugal in my view, in top form, and a must-have for this round.
  • Froholdt (€6.5M) – voted Midfielder of the Month, an all-action box-to-box midfielder who delivers both defensive and attacking returns.
  • Enzo Barrenechea (€5.5M) – chosen with the Double Gameweek in mind, showcasing excellent defensive ability and the potential to get on the scoresheet for Benfica.
  • Zalazar (€7.5M) – Braga’s standout player, also their penalty taker.
  • Djouhara (€5.5M) – three goals in four matches so far, only failing to score against Sporting CP.

Forwards

  • Samu (€11.5M) – back from injury and fully fit after using the break to regain sharpness.
  • Luis Suárez (€10.5M) – in red-hot form, scoring four goals in a single international match and already excelling through the first four matchdays.
  • Gustavo Silva (€6.0M) – highlighted in the last round, delivered with a goal, and continues to be one of Vitória SC’s most important attacking players.
