Tomorrow kicks off another fantasy football round – and this time, all teams will be in action. It’s the first league match for both Rio Ave and Benfica, two sides with exciting fantasy options, especially Benfica.
By now, we have a clearer idea of each team’s likely starting XI for the season. With that in mind, here are my 15 picks for Round 2.

Goalkeepers
Miszta (€4.5M) – Making his league debut, one of last season’s best goalkeepers faces Nacional at home, with a strong chance of a clean sheet.
Charles (€5.0M) – Produced some excellent saves in Round 1 to keep Vitória’s loss to FC Porto respectable.
Defenders
Ricardo Mangas (€5.5M) – With Maxi absent, Mangas will start at left-back for Sporting. A coach’s favourite, he offers plenty of attacking drive against Arouca.
Maga (€5.0M) – Unlucky in the first round, but has a much easier fixture this week.
Ntoi (€4.5M) – The leader of Rio Ave’s defence; physically strong, dominant in duels, and a set-piece threat.
de Haas (€5.0M) – Famalicão’s penalty taker, and part of a defence that looked solid in Round 1.
Alberto (€6.0M) – Already has one assist and offers strong attacking returns from defence – and it could have been more.
Midfielders
Enzo Barrenechea (€5.5M) – In my view, the best midfield pick this round. A defensive midfielder for Benfica who makes plenty of ball recoveries but still gets forward thanks to their dominance.
Gharbi (€7.0M) – Likely to start for Braga due to rotation. A talented winger who takes set pieces and can deliver assists.
Trincão (€11.5M) – The standout performer in Round 1. Playing at home, he’s expected to be involved in plenty of goal-scoring chances.
Froholdt (€6.5M) – Went close twice last round but missed the target. If he gets the same chances this week, expect goals.
Vando Félix (€5.5M) – Vitória’s right winger, highly attack-minded, and trusted enough to play all 90 minutes away at FC Porto.
Forwards
Luis Suárez (€10.5M) – Wasteful last time out but gets the captain’s armband from me this week. I’m backing him to score.
Ivanović (€10.0M) – Benfica’s powerful striker, already off the mark in official matches this season and sure to get chances.
Clayton (€8.0M) – The top scorer outside the “big three” last season. A season-long favourite for me – goals are almost guaranteed.
Players to Watch
- Schjelderup (BEN – MID) – €8.0M
- Gustavo Silva (VIT – FWD) – €6.0M
- Borja Sainz (FCP – MID) – €9.0M
Good luck for Round 2!
