Fantasy Liga Portugal Betclic Gameweek 1 Team Reveal

Welcome to my Fantasy Liga Portugal Betclic Gameweek 1 Team Reveal! With the 2025/26 season about to kick off, it’s time to lock in those first drafts and take advantage of early fixture runs, budget picks, and standout premiums.

In this article, I, @joaopcc2ilva, reveal my full Gameweek 1 squad, explain my key decisions, and highlight the players I’m backing to make a strong start in Liga Portugal Fantasy, so let’s get into it.

August is here, and that can only mean one thing: Liga Portugal is back – and this year, there’s an exciting new twist with the launch of the official Liga Portugal Fantasy game.

The game opened recently and, while it brings some interesting features, there’s still room for improvement. But let’s focus on what really matters: building a balanced, competitive squad for the season ahead.

Goalkeepers

I’m starting between the sticks with André Ferreira (€4.0M) from Moreirense. He’s expected to be the club’s number one throughout the season, and crucially, Moreirense aren’t in European competition -making their fixtures more predictable.

My backup is Sequeira (€4.5M), one of the top point-scorers from 2024. Together, these two provide a reliable rotation pairing depending on the matchups.

Defenders

With Aranda sidelined, de Haas (€5.0M) becomes his team’s penalty taker. Add to that his strong aerial presence, and he’s a great option for bonus points.

Next is Alberto Costa (€6.0M)—a physically dominant full-back who loves to get forward. Playing for Porto, who’ll control most matches, he has real assist potential.

My third pick is Diomandé (€6.0M)—a key player in Sporting’s title-winning side. He’s dangerous from set-pieces and offers strong attacking threat alongside solid clean sheet potential.

I’ve also included Larrazabal (€5.0M) from a mid-table side that impressed last season. He’s got an eye for a cross and might chip in with a goal or two as well.

Finally, Miguel Maga gets the nod. After developing steadily last year and enjoying a strong pre-season, he looks set for regular minutes at Vitória. His versatility—covering both RCB and RWB—makes him a great value pick.

Fantasy Premier League managers can’t miss this! Our Essential Guide for 2025-26 contains team reveals, drafts and much more inside!

Midfielders

We begin with Trincão (€11.5M) – for me, the best fantasy asset in Portugal. He started all 34 matches last season, averaging 87 minutes per game, and with Gyökeres gone, he’ll be even more central to Sporting’s attack.

Begraoui (€5.5M) is one of the best-value picks in the game. He’s on penalties and plays as a striker, yet listed as a midfielder. That combo is gold.

Sorriso (€7.0M) also makes the cut. With Aranda out, he should see increased minutes on the right wing for Famalicão, who are expected to be strong again this season.

Froholdt (€6.5M) might divide opinion, but he’s been Porto’s standout performer in pre-season. A true box-to-box midfielder, he contributes at both ends of the pitch – racking up ball recoveries, driving runs, and regular touches in the opposition box.

Lastly, Chiquinho (€5.5M) returns to Portugal with newly promoted Alverca. He’s expected to be a key creative outlet and offers great value at this price.

Forwards

Leading the line is Suárez (€10.5M), tasked with replacing Gyökeres at Sporting. It’s a big role, but he’s nailed on as their striker and should see plenty of chances in front of goal.

Next is Elisor (€6.5M), who has looked sharp in pre-season with five goals in four games. He made big strides last year and looks ready to deliver even more.

Finally, there’s Samu (€11.5M) – a powerhouse forward who could realistically hit 20 goals this season. With a new coach and tactical setup, he’s expected to thrive even more in 2025/26.

Players to Watch

Here are three budget-friendly players worth keeping an eye on this season:

  1. Cédric Nuozzi (MID – €5.0M)
  2. Mercado (MID – €5.5M)
  3. Gustavo Silva (FWD – €6.0M)
