Fantasy EFL Top Picks for Gameweek 7

Last modified date

In this article we take a look at the Fantasy EFL top picks for Gameweek 7. We bring in our expert and regular Fantasy EFL contributor @FPLEdgeworth to reveal his two teams and two of the best picks in each position for the new round.

Our Fantasy EFL Fantasy top picks for Gameweek 7 can be hugely beneficial for fantasy managers. Knowing who the best players to own in each position and top two teams to target are could help you beat your mini-league rivals and secure a good rank.

Goalkeepers

Murphy Mahoney (Stevenage)

It’s a double Gameweek for Stevenage in the round ahead as they come up against Exeter and Charlton. They have two matches to keep a clean sheet and after three in the league already they have shown how good they can be defensively. With that in mind man between the sticks Murphy Mahoney could be a great pick.

Jed Steer (Peterborough)

Peterborough have had a mixed start to the season but they too have a double Gameweek ahead. As well as facing a Bristol Rovers side who have lost their last three out of four matches they also clash with 22nd place Leyton Orient. This could suggest Jed Steer has potential this week.

Defenders – Carl Piergianni (Stevenage)

As mentioned Stevenage have two opportunities to keep clean sheets this week. If they can’t manage that then Carl Piergianni offers other routes to points. As well as scoring in his most recent match against Barnsley Piergianni also produced a huge 10 clearances, both helped contribute to a huge 17-point haul.

Michal Helik (Huddersfield)

Huddersfield go into their next match off the back of a 4-0 win against Bolton. They also play two matches at home this week which could make them one of the standout teams for investment. Their best pick at the back is arguably Michal Helik who has picked up at least three additional points from defensive actions in his last two matches.

Midfielders – Thelo Aasgaard (Wigan)

Another side who go into a double Gameweek after a 4-0 win is Wigan. As well as playing an inconsistent Lincoln side they also face Exeter who shipped two goals in three of their last four league matches. To target those teams we should look to Thelo Aasgaard. As well as scoring five goals in four pre-season matches Aasgaard has also netted three goals since including a penalty.

Kwame Poku (Peterborough)

Peterborough seem to have found their shooting boots after scoring between 2-4 goals in three of their last four league matches. They face some poor defences up next so bringing in Kwame Poku could be a wise move. Since his opening day brace against Shrewsbury Poku has since added to his tally with another goal and an assist. Both of those returns came in his last two matches.

Forwards – Josh Koroma (Huddersfield)

Two home fixtures on the bounce is simply unavoidable for Fantasy EFL managers when it comes to Huddersfield. Spearheading their frontline going into the games is Josh Koroma. Koroma seems to be gaining momentum – bagging a goal contribution in each of his three league matches.

Louie Barry (Stockport)

Stockport have just one fixture this week but it’s a good one. As well as playing at home Stockport clash with Leyton Orient, a side who have conceded 2-4 goals in four of their matches in all competitions this season. Main man Louie Barry has scored in all but one of the matches he has started since pre-season which highlights the fantastic form that he is in.

Teams to Target

  • Huddersfield – As mentioned several times during the article Huddersfield have two plum home fixtures this week. As well as clean sheet potential Huddersfield could win and win well.
  • Peterborough – They face two inconsistent sides in Bristol Rovers and Leyton Orient this week. Similarly to Huddersfield you’d expect them to win and score goals but they also play one of their games away from home which could mean extra points if successful.
