Fantasy EFL Top Picks for Gameweek 6

Last modified date

In this article we take a look at the Fantasy EFL top picks for Gameweek 6. We bring in our expert and regular Fantasy EFL contributor @FPLEdgeworth to reveal his two teams and two of the best picks in each position for the second round.

Our Fantasy EFL Fantasy top picks for Gameweek 6 can be hugely beneficial for fantasy managers. Knowing who the best players to own in each position and top two teams to target are could help you beat your mini-league rivals and secure a good rank.

Goalkeepers

Michael Cooper (Sheffield United)

Sheffield United may play away from home this week but they also face a Hull side who have failed to score in their last two matches on the bounce. The Blades go into the game off the back of keeping a clean sheet in their last match and helping them to do that was Michael Cooper who could have potential again this week.

Matt Macey (Colchester United)

Colchester haven’t exactly been reliable so far. In fact most of their appeal this week comes from their fixture against Morecambe. Morecambe haven’t just lost every single league game they have played but they have also failed to score a single goal. This alone is enough to back Matty Macey between the sticks.

Defenders

Mickey Demetriou (Crewe Alexandra)

Crewe are similar in that their overall form is questionable but they have a favourable fixture this week. They clash with Accrington next up who have also failed to win a single game. One player who could benefit from this is Mickey Demetriou. Demetriou recently scored which shows he has some attacking potential but he has also averaged a huge nine clearances per game so has potential to pick up extra defensive points.

Dennis Cirkin (Sunderland)

Sunderland have won every single one of their league matches this season and a meeting with Plymouth, even away from home, is too good a proposition to turn down. As well as helping his side keep three four clean sheets Dennis Cirkin has also scored and assisted this season.

Midfielders

Luke Molyneux (Doncaster Rovers)

Harrogate have lost their last three matches on the bounce whilst Doncaster have won theirs. They have a great opportunity to win again this week and Luke Molyneux could be key in influencing that. Molyneux has already produced five goals and two assists this season so goes into the clash in top form.

Aaron Wildig (Newport County)

Newport will be hoping to bounce back after their eventful loss to Port Vale in Gameweek 5. The Welsh side face Swindon this week who have failed to win any of their matches so far. Talismanic for Newport is Aaron Wildig, Wildig has netted in each of his last three matches on the bounce.

FWD: Josh Maja (West Brom)

West Brom have a great fixture to attack this week. The Baggies clash with newly promoted Portsmouth who have shipped two or more goals in three of their first five matches. Josh Maja leads the attack and goes into his next fixture in top form – having scored four goals and created one assist in his last four matches.

FWD: Kyle Wootton (Stockport County)

Crawley could be a team to target this week after conceding seven goals in their last two matches. Targeting them we look to Stockport who have netted at least two goals in three of their last four games in all competitions. Helping them to do that is Kyle Wootton. He has started the new campaign in blistering form – bagging three goals and two assists in his last five matches.

Teams to target

Sheffield United: The Blades have a great away tie against Hull. As mentioned Hull have failed to score in their last two matches which could mean an away win with a clean sheet. If successful the Blades could bring in plenty of points this week with that in mind.

Colchester United – It’s straight forward with Colchester. They play away from home against a team who are yet to score or take a win from any of their league matches so far. Colchester have similar, if not better potential than Sheffield United.
