Our Fantasy EFL Top Picks for Gameweek 33 could be hugely valuable for managers. Knowing the best teams and players to pick going into any given round can help propel you to success, both in mini-leagues and global ranking.
Goalkeepers
Gabriel Breeze – Carlisle United

First up this week is Gabriel Breeze of Carlisle, one of four teams with a double gameweek. They play both Bromley and Milton Keynes at home, giving Breeze two opportunities to rack up points. He has earned save points in each of his last five games and kept two clean sheets during that span. With two fixtures, he has a strong chance of outscoring single-gameweek goalkeepers.
Owen Goodman – AFC Wimbledon

If you’re looking for a single-gameweek option, Owen Goodman of Wimbledon is a solid pick. He has kept the most clean sheets in League Two, including three in his last five home games. This week, Wimbledon faces Barrow, a lower midtable side, while Wimbledon themselves sit third. Given their strong defensive form, Goodman is one of the safest choices for a clean sheet.
Defenders
Connor Hall – Port Vale

Port Vale’s Connor Hall is the first defender on the list, benefiting from a double gameweek with two favourable fixtures against Morecambe and Barrow. Morecambe are in the relegation zone, while Barrow sit lower midtable, making both matchups promising. Hall has been in excellent form, scoring 45 points in his last five games – an average of nine per game. With two easy fixtures ahead, he’s a standout pick.
Sam Lavelle – Carlisle United

Another strong defensive option this week is Carlisle’s Sam Lavelle. Despite playing for the league’s bottom club, he has managed to score 39 points in his last five games, averaging nearly eight per game. Carlisle hosts Bromley and Milton Keynes, and with both matches at home, Lavelle has a solid chance of picking up clean sheet points.
Midfielders
Sam Foley – Barrow

Moving into midfield, Barrow’s Sam Foley is an intriguing pick. Although he faces tough away fixtures against Wimbledon and Port Vale, his playing style makes those matchups beneficial. Foley earns most of his points from interceptions, and tougher games often lead to more defensive actions. In his last three matches, he has recorded 11 interceptions – equivalent to 22 points.
Ben Whitfield – Barrow

Another Barrow midfielder, Ben Whitfield, also makes the list. Like Foley, he has two difficult fixtures, but that doesn’t hurt his value. Whitfield accumulates points in multiple ways, including assists, key passes, interceptions, and shots on target. Over his last three games, he has totalled 24 points, averaging eight per match. His all-around contributions make him a solid option.
Forwards
Lorent Tolaj – Port Vale

Leading the attack is Port Vale’s Lorent Tolaj, who has a double gameweek against Morecambe and Barrow – two weaker sides. Vale are in sixth place and pushing for automatic promotion, making these must-win games. Tolaj has been in excellent form, registering eight goals and seven assists in 19 appearances. Against two underdog opponents, he has a strong chance of returning points and possibly delivering multiple attacking returns.
Jovon Makama – Lincoln City

The final pick of the week is Lincoln’s Jovon Makama. Despite having just one game against Exeter, he is the most in-form striker in the league right now. In his last four matches, he has scored five goals and provided three assists, amassing an impressive 49 points. Such returns are rare for a forward, and even with a single fixture, Makama is one of the top options this week.
Teams to Target
Port Vale
Port Vale are the first team to target this week. They play both of their fixtures at home, facing Morecambe (in the relegation zone) and Barrow (with little left to play for). Sitting in sixth place and chasing automatic promotion, they not only need to win both games but are also well-positioned to do so. Their players should deliver strong returns.
Carlisle United
Carlisle are another team worth considering. While they are bottom of the league, they have two home fixtures against Bromley and Milton Keynes – two teams with little to play for. Carlisle, on the other hand, is fighting to stay up, and with home advantage, they could surprise many by picking up positive results.
