Fantasy EFL Top Picks for Gameweek 31

Last modified date

In this article we take a look at the Fantasy EFL top picks for Gameweek 31. We bring in our expert and regular Fantasy EFL contributor @FPLEdgeworth to reveal his top picks in each positionand the best teams to target.

Our Fantasy EFL Fantasy top picks for Gameweek 31 can be hugely beneficial for fantasy managers. Knowing who the best players to own in each position and the best teams to select are, could be hugely beneficial for the round ahead.

Goalkeepers

James Trafford – Burnley

Fantasy EFL Top Picks for Gameweek 31

Starting off this week’s top picks is Trafford, who plays for the record-breaking Burnley defence, a defence which has already kept a massive 25 clean sheets in just 35 games. This week, Luton and West Brom lay ahead, which could see their form continue.

Ryan Allsopp – Birmingham City

Another goalkeeper with an impressive clean sheet record is Birmingham City’s Allsopp. Since joining the club, Allsopp has kept an impressive 16 clean sheets in 25 games and is currently on a run of five in a row. Two home matches against Lincoln and Stevenage, could easily see them add to that this week.

Defenders

Maxime Estève – Burnley

Fantasy EFL Top Picks for Gameweek 31

Moving onto the defence, it’s hard to ignore another part of the Burnley backline. Estève, just like Trafford, has played a major part in keeping 25 clean sheets in 35 games. He also averages just under three defensive action points a game, which adds dimension to his appeal.

Christoph Klarer – Birmingham City

Just like the previous player, Klarer is an extension of a good defence, this time at Birmingham City. He has played a big part in their good defensive record and recent five clean sheets on the bounce. Klarer, like the previous defender, also offers defensive action points – averaging just under three per game.

Midfielders

Finn Azaz – Middlesbrough

Fantasy EFL Top Picks for Gameweek 31

In the midfield, Azaz of Middlesbrough is my first pick. Although known for being inconsistent since getting dropped due to bad performances, his last two games saw him bank a combined total of 26 points. This was due to two goals, an assist, and additional action points. Swansea and QPR lay ahead, which could be a great opportunity to extend his form.

Dan James – Leeds United

Alongside him in the midfield is James of Leeds, who is also inconsistent. However, in his last 10 games James has returned four double-digit hauls, whilst also producing two goals and three assists in his previous five matches. With two easier fixtures against Portsmouth and Millwall, we could see the return of a double-digit haul leading to a massive score over two games.

Forwards

Hakeeb Adelakun – Salford City

Fantasy EFL Top Picks for Gameweek 31

A current differential at 0.1%, Salford forward Adelakun has picked up four goals and one assist in his last five fixtures. This week he plays Crewe and Chesterfield at home, who in their last two games combined to concede nine goals.

James McAtee – Bolton Wanderers

The last player in this week’s top picks is Bolton forward McAtee. He is fantastic form as of late – scoring four goals and creating an assist in his five matches. Gameweek 31 sees McAtee clash with Burton and Bristol Rovers, two teams at the wrong side of the table.

Teams to Target

  • Leeds United – Leeds are at the top of the Championship and are unbeaten in 17 games. Meetings with Portsmouth and Millwall, should be two guaranteed wins as they try and get closer to securing a return to the Premier League.
  • Birmingham City – Birmingham is my other team to target. Prior to their last game they were on a run of 18 games unbeaten. After a loss last week they will be looking to bounce back against Lincoln and Stevenage, two sides they should be beating if they want to return to the Championship.
