Fantasy EFL Top Picks for Gameweek 3

In this article we take a look at the Fantasy EFL top picks for Gameweek 3. We bring in our expert and regular Fantasy EFL contributor @FPLEdgeworth to reveal his two teams and two of the best picks in each position for the second round.

Our Fantasy EFL Fantasy top picks for Gameweek 3 can be hugely beneficial for fantasy managers. Knowing who the best players to own in each position and top two teams to target are could help you beat your mini-league rivals and secure a good rank.

Goalkeepers – Teddy Sharman-Lowe – Doncaster

Doncaster play at home this week which is the perfect venue for them to bounce back after their recent away defeat. They face Morecambe next up who have failed to score a single goal in three of their matches. This could be a good opportunity for Teddy Sharman-Lowe to keep a clean sheet.

Conor Ripley – Port Vale

Port Vale have been one of the standouts this season so far defensively. In fact, they have managed a clean sheet in each of their first two league matches. If they continue that form going into their next game against Barrow then Conor Ripley could have good potential.

Defenders – Tom Sang – Port Vale

As well as having clean sheet potential this week Port Vale play with a back-three system which allows wing-back Thomas Sang to advance forward. Interestingly Sang recently scored against his upcoming opponent Barrow in the Cup.

Vitinho – Burnley

Regardless of fixture Vitinho is an essential. Not only does the winger play in one of the title favourites frontlines but he is also categorised as a defender in the game. This means Vitinho has both clean sheet and attacking potential going into any given game.

Midfielders – Ben Wiles – Huddersfield

Huddersfield have started the new season exceptionally – winning all three of their matches in both the League and Cup. They clash with Shrewsbury next who have lost both of their first two games. Ben Wiles appears to be their most effective attacker after scoring two goals and creating one assist in his first two games.

Jack Payne – Colchester

Another side in fantastic scoring form is Colchester – netting at least two goals in all three matches played so far. Colchester play at home this week which is a good opportunity for Jack Payne to add to the three goals and three assists he managed in his last four matches.

Forwards – Billy Bodin – Burton

The season hasn’t started particularly well for Burton after picking up just one point in their first two games. However, what is worth noting is the fact they have netted 2-3 goals in each of their losses. One player heavily involved in those goals is Billy Bodin who has netted three times this season already.

Alfie May – Birmingham City

Birmingham have a meeting with Leyton Orient this week who have lost both of their first two league matches. One player who can’t stop scoring for Birmingham is main man and penalty taker Alfie May who has netted seven times since joining from Charlton.

Teams to win

  • West Brom – The Baggies have started the season well – beating QPR and drawing to promotion favourites Leeds and keeping a clean sheet. Stoke lay ahead for them away from home so if West Brom win I’ll pick up extra points.
  • Peterborough – Peterborough also play away from home this week. They beat Shrewsbury away from home last week 4-1 so if they can repeat that I should pick up plenty of points. They have a good chance to do it as well against a poor Exeter side.
