Fantasy EFL Top Picks for Gameweek 29

In this article we take a look at the Fantasy EFL top picks for Gameweek 29. We bring in our expert and regular Fantasy EFL contributor @FPLEdgeworth to reveal his top picks in each position, and the best teams to target.
Our Fantasy EFL Fantasy top picks for Gameweek 29 can be hugely beneficial for fantasy managers. Knowing who the best players to own in each position and the best teams to select are, could be hugely beneficial for the round ahead.
Sam Walker – Bradford City

This week we begin with Bradford goalkeeper Walker, who is the last line of the defence of one of the most in-form backlines across all three leagues. Bradford have kept a huge six clean sheets in their last seven games, and with Milton Keynes and Bromley ahead, we could easily see them add to that.
Lee Nicholls – Huddersfield Town

Moving onto my other goalkeeper, we have Nicholls, who plays for Huddersfield. Since returning from injury, he has managed to reclaim the starting role, and so far since that return he has kept two clean sheets in three games. Two bottom-half sides in Peterborough and Wigan are up next, which means Huddersfield have clean sheet potential ahead.
Defenders – James Bolton – Fleetwood Town

One of the most in-form defenders is Fleetwood’s Bolton, who in the last six games has returned 65 points, which includes five double-digit hauls. Ahead of him are matches against Grimsby and Gillingham. It wouldn’t be surprising to see his form continue, especially after returning against a tough AFC Wimbledon side in the previous round.
Sam Stubbs – Cheltenham Town

A player who has featured in my top picks several times is Stubbs. Although the Cheltenham Town defender has struggled in the last two games, prior to that he had a 12-game run of consecutive returns. This week he clashes with Newport and Walsall, and although they aren’t the easiest fixtures on paper, he has plenty of potential via defensive actions.
Midfielders – Davis Keillor-Dunn – Barnsley

Barnsley midfielder Keillor-Dunn takes up his place in my top picks. Although he hasn’t been the most consistent recently, he has had flashes of ability to return over two games this season, and this could be another time he does, as he faces Rotherham and Northampton this week.
Ethan Galbraith – Leyton Orient

The surprise player in this weeks top picks is Galbraith who plays for Leyton Orient. Before his previous game he managed a three-match run where he scored 36 points, which similar to our previous player, he did through multiple routes. Bolton and Birmingham are difficult games, but this could play into Galbraith’ hands.
Forwards – Jamille Matt – Walsall

Forwards are next, with Walsall striker Matt being the first. He hasn’t really needed to score goals this season because Walsall have had Lowe. But, with him now gone, he has more responsibility to add to his 10 goals. The fixtures ahead could hold potential for both Walsall and Matt.
Michael Cheek – Bromley

The last player to feature this week is Cheek of Bromley. Cheek has been a consistent scorer for his team this season, managing 15 goals already. This week should be no different as he has two home games against Harrogate and Bradford. If Bromley do score then it’s likely that he’ll be among the goals.
Teams to Target
- Birmingham City – Although you could pick two easier fixtures to target, Birmingham sit top of the table after winning a huge 21 of their 29 matches. In addition, only one other side have scored more goals than them this season in the league.
- Walsall – League Two’s leaders are up next, who find themselves seven points clear at the top of the table. Although they have struggled recently, a win in their latest game should have steadied the ship for them. Morecambe and Cheltenham lay ahead, two great fixtures for them to recapture their consistency.
