Fantasy EFL Top Picks for Gameweek 28

Last modified date

In this article we take a look at the Fantasy EFL top picks for Gameweek 28. We bring in our expert and regular Fantasy EFL contributor @FPLEdgeworth to reveal his top picks in each positionand the best teams to target.

Our Fantasy EFL Fantasy top picks for Gameweek 28 can be hugely beneficial for fantasy managers. Knowing who the best players to own in each position and the best teams to select are, could be hugely beneficial for the round ahead.

Teddy Sharman-Lowe – Doncaster Rovers

Fantasy EFL Top Picks for Gameweek 28

We start this week with Doncaster goalkeeper Sharman-Lowe. Although not securing a clean sheet in his previous three games, in the two matches prior to that he picked up back-to-back clean sheets. This week Doncaster face Grimsby and Morecambe, two sides they are more than capable of keeping clean sheets against.

Franco Ravizzoli – Wycombe Wanderers

Another player who could do with a return to form this week is Ravizzoli. Similarly to the previous player and team, Wycombe finds themselves in and around the automatic spots, so they need two good results to maintain a decent position. Crawley and Bristol Rovers lay ahead, two poor sides, which could mean plenty of defensive potential for Wycombe.

Defenders – Ryan Johnson – AFC Wimbledon

Moving onto some defender picks, the first player here is Johnson. He plays for an impressive Wimbledon defence which has kept five clean sheets in the previous six games. Wimbledon do in fact lead the way for total clean sheets and lowest goals conceded per 90 in the league. With that in mind and taking into account matches against Salford and Fleetwood, we could see another two clean sheets.

Carl Piergianni – Stevenage

A player familiar to many EFL Fantasy managers this season is Piergianni, who plays for Stevenage. Although in the last few games clean sheets have been limited, overall this season they have kept 14, which is one in every other game. Peterborough and Burton could be fantastic opportunities for Piergianni to pick up both defensive action points and clean sheets.

Midfielders – Luke Molyneux – Doncaster Rovers

Fantasy EFL Top Picks for Gameweek 28

The player up next has cemented himself as one of the biggest ‘trolls’ because of his inconsistency. However, with four goals and one assist in the previous five games, it’s time people give him another chance, so he’s back in the top picks. Grimsby and Morecambe, who Doncaster face this week, have maintained poor defences for large parts of the campaign, so Molyneux could have huge potential this week.

Daniel Kemp – Stevenage

Next up is another player who has been in good form, Kemp. The Stevenage attacker has picked up three goals and two assists in his previous six matches alone. Peterborough and Burton are two of the worst defences in the league, so targeting them could prove hugely rewarding.

Forwards – Matt Stevens – AFC Wimbledon

With forward options we have to consider League Two joint top scorer Mathew Stevens. The Wimbledon striker has produced a huge 15 goals and two assists in League Two this season. Coming up this week, Wimbledon face Salford and Fleetwood, two teams Wimbledon will be expected to beat if they want to find themselves in the automatics at the end of the season.

Alassana Jatta – Notts County

Fantasy EFL Top Picks for Gameweek 28

Completing my forward picks this week is Jatta of Notts County. It was heavily rumoured that he would move up a couple of leagues in January. However, he stayed and will hopefully continue to add to his 14 goals and five assists for the season. In the last five games he has picked up two goals and two assists, and this week he faces promotion rivals Port Vale and Colchester, where he should pick up some important goals.

Teams to Target

  • Wycombe Wanderers – Wycombe could be a great team to target this week as they face Crawley and Bristol Rovers. Both sides are struggling towards the bottom of the table, so Wycombe go into the round as heavy favourites.
  • Doncaster Rovers – Although not in the automatic spots, they sit in the play-off spots. The two games are just as important, as they play Grimsby, who, if they don’t win against, could potentially cause Doncaster to lose their playoff spot, and also Morecambe, who are in the relegation zone.
