Fantasy EFL Top Picks for Gameweek 27

Last modified date

In this article we take a look at the Fantasy EFL top picks for Gameweek 27. We bring in our expert and regular Fantasy EFL contributor @FPLEdgeworth to reveal his top picks in each positionand the best teams to target.

Our Fantasy EFL Fantasy top picks for Gameweek 27 can be hugely beneficial for fantasy managers. Knowing who the best players to own in each position and the best teams to select are, could be hugely beneficial for the round ahead.

Goalkeepers – Owen Goodman – AFC Wimbledon

Starting off this week is a goalkeeper from the best defence in League Two, Wimbledon’s Owen Goodman, who leads the way for total clean sheets. Recent form has also been impressive from Goodman – bagging three clean sheets in his last four games. This week he faces Accrington, who sit towards the bottom of the table, and has home advantage against Crewe.

Michael Cooper – Sheffield United

Following on from that, my other goalkeeper pick this is week is Cooper. Sheffield United, sit third for the most clean sheets in the Championship so far with 17. Matches against Portsmouth and Middlesbrough at Bramall Lane lay ahead, which could be two good opportunities to add to their clean sheet total.

Defenders – Mickey Demetriou – Crewe Alexandra

Next up are the defenders, starting off with the highest-scoring player in the game, Crewe’ Demetriou. Although short of big scores recently, he has to outings which could offer the chance to bounce back. Newport and Wimbledon are up next for Demetriou this week, and I think he is guaranteed at least one clean sheet, along with points from defensive actions.

Jack Shephard – Bradford City

A new player to the top picks is up next in Bradford defender Shephard. He features for the first time this season and deservingly so, after picking up 41 points in his last five games, scoring at least five points in each of them. Shephard meets with Harrogate and Accrington at home, two of the easiest fixtures on paper this week.

Midfielders – Enzo Le Fée – Sunderland

My first midfielder may be new to the league, but he is predicted by many to ‘set it alight’. Sunderland midfielder Le Fée, has already collected 27 points in his last four matches, including points via interceptions, key passes, and assists, so he offers it all as a midfielder. This week Sunderland face two out of form sides in Watford and Luton, so he could continue his form.

Daniel Kemp – Stevenage

One of the most in-form players available this week is Kemp. The Stevenage man has picked up four goals and two assists in his last four matches. So with Charlton and Crawley coming up next, he should continue that recent form.

Forwards – Wilson Isidor – Sunderland

Moving onto the forwards, we start with Isidor, who plays for Sunderland. Although not as in-form as the previous player, he does have two goals in his last two matches. If it wasn’t for two penalty misses, he could have had six goals in his last six games. Watford and Luton have been leaking lots of goals recently so Isidor has plenty of potential.

Kyle Wootton – Stockport County

Another player who has been picking up goal contributions in recent games is Wootton. Since losing Louie Barry, Wootten has stepped up by providing assists and goals – with one goal and three assists in his last five games. To aim for the play-offs Stockport could benefit from beating both Barnsley and Bristol Rovers this week, and that could be influenced and enforced by Wootton.

Teams to Target

  • Bradford City – Bradford City stand out immediately as they have two of the easiest fixtures. They face both Accrington and Harrogate at home, which gives them a huge advantage. Prior to their latest league match Bradford won a huge seven of their games during an eight-match period.
  • Sunderland – Sunderland are the other team you should be looking to target. They are unbeaten in their last six games, so have form at their sides. They should beat both Watford and Luton this week in my opinion.
